MMG Stables LLC’s El Areeb took charge of Monday’s $150, 000 Jerome Stakes (G3) at Aqueduct on the turn and the newly turned 3-year-old colt by Exchange Rate ran away from there, bounding to an 11-1/4 length victory, with fellow OBS graduate Bonus Points (April ’16) checking in second. Altamira Racing Stable and David A. Bernsen’s St. Joe Bay took the lead at the start of Saturday’s $100,000 Midnight Lute Stakes (G3) at Santa Anita and held it to the wire, finishing in a dead heat for the victory with stablemate Solid Wager. It’s the first graded stakes win for the now 5-year-old Florida-bred gelding by Saint Anddan, a two time OBS graduate. He was consigned by Bobby Jones Equine LLC, Agent to the 2013 Winter Mixed Sale and then purchased for $60,000 out of the Bobby Dodd consignment at the 2014 June Sale after an Under Tack eighth in :10 flat. Michael Dubb, Bethlehem Stable LLC and Michael Imperio’s Bonita Bianca trailed in the early going of Saturday’s $100,000 East View Stakes, but surged to the lead on the outside, hit the front coming to the eighth pole and drew off to win by 5-1/4 lengths. It’s the second stakes win for the newly turned 3-year-old daughter of Curlin, now 4-3-0-1 with earnings of $276,000 for trainer Rudy Rodriguez. Jim Wells and Cheyenne Stables LLC’s Paige picked up her first stakes victory in the $75,000 Via Borghese Stakes at Gulfstream on New Year’s Eve, finding room on the rail in the stretch and rallying late for a half length victory. The now 5-year-old graded stakes placed daughter of Sky Mesa was consigned by Eisaman Equine, Agent, to the 2014 OBS April Sale where she breezed an eighth in :10 2/5 at the Under Tack Show. Schwartz’s High Ridge Road circled horses on the turn in Saturday’s $100,000 Thirty Eight Go Go Stakes at Laurel, took the lead after turning for home and scored her first stakes win by half a length. The newly turned 5-year-old graded stakes placed daughter of Quality Road, trained by Linda Rice, is now 10-4-2-3 and has earned $233,990 to date. LNJ Foxwoods’ Constellation battled between horses for the early lead in Monday’s $301, 035 La Brea Stakes (G1) at Santa Anita, fell back in the stretch and then came again late and got up to win by half a length. It’s the first graded stakes victory for the daughter of Bellamy Road, and her fourth stakes win in her last five starts. Now trained by Jerry Hollendorfer, she’s 8-5-1-1 and has earned $479,464. J Stables, Head of Plains Partners LLC, Summer, Summers, Kisber and Summers’ Mind Your Biscuits sat off the pace in the early going of Santa Anita’s $301,380 Malibu Stakes (G1), then rallied to catch fellow OBS graduate Sharp Azteca (April ’15, August ’14)  in deep stretch and beat him by a half length. It’s the second graded stakes victory for the 3-year-old colt by Posse, who scored in Saratoga’s Amsterdam Stakes (G2) in July. Trained by Robert Falcone, Jr., he’s now 13-4-4-3 and has earned $675,366 to date. Gainesway Stable’s Danzatrice took control of the $50,000 Tiffany Lass Stakes at Fair Grounds on Monday at the quarter pole and ran away from there, drawing off in the lane to a 7-1/4 length victory. It’s the second stakes win for the 4-year-old daughter of Dunkirk, trained by Steve Asmussen, now 9-5-1-1- with earnings of $227,865. Gelfenstein Farm’s Dearest picked up her first graded stakes win on Saturday at Gulfstream Park. She took charge of the $100, 000 Sugar Swirl Stakes (G3) after half a mile, held off a late run by fellow OBS graduate You Bought Her (April ’12) and won by a length. It’s the third stakes victory of the year for the 3-year-old filly by Midshipman, trained by Gilberto Zerpa, now 7-5-1-1 with $295,550 in earnings. She was purchased for $150,000 at the 2015 OBS March Sale by Gelfenstein out of the Woodford Thoroughbreds consignment after breezing an eighth in :9 4/5 at the Under Tack Show. watch her under tack video

Mingyeonggeun’s Clean Up Joy took the Grand Prix Stakes (G1) at Seoul Race Track, the fifth time an OBS graduate has won the race. (watch the race video) He joins 2012 winner Gamdonguibada, 2011 winner Tough Win and Dongbanui Gangja, back to back winner  in 2008 and 2009. Clean Up Joy turned back heavy favorite Triple Nine (KOR) by a length a quarter, with Triple Crown winner Power Blade (KOR) settling for third. Abdullah Saeed Almaddah’s Green Mask sat just off the pace in Saturday’s $50,000 Bonapaw Stakes at Fair Grounds, then came running in the stretch and was up in the final yards to win by a neck. It’s the second stakes win for the well-traveled 5-year-old graded stakes placed Mizzen Mast gelding, purchased for $150,000 out of the Casse Sales LLC (Justin Casse) consignment at the 2013 OBS April Sale after an Under Tack eighth in :10 1/5. William & Corrinne Heiligbrodt’s Golden Mischief circled horses on the turn of the $60,000 Letellier Memorial Stakes at Fair Grounds on Saturday, then ran by the leaders in the stretch to take the race by 2-1/4 lengths with fellow OBS graduate Forest Circle (April ’16) checking in third. It the second stakes score for the 2-year-old daughter of Into Mischief, now 8-4-1-0 for trainer Steve Asmussen with $166,730 in earnings. Weaver and Imaginary Stables’ War Story scored his first stakes win in emphatic fashion, taking the lead at the start of the $125,000 Queens County Stakes at Aqueduct and drawing away in the stretch to a 7-3/4 length victory. The multiple graded stakes placed 4-year-old gelding by Northern Afleet is now 17-4-3-2 for trainer Mario Serey, Jr. and has earned $559,395 to date. Danny J. Chen’s Yorkiepoo Princess took the lead at the start of Aqueduct’s $100, 000 Furlough Stakes on Thanksgiving Day and was never headed, opening a big lead and coasting home a winner by 2-2/4 lengths. It’s the first stakes win for the 2-year-old Florida-bred daughter of Kantharos, trained by Edward Barker, now 5-2-0-0 with $94,811 in earnings. MMG Stables’ Undulated was still last of five a furlong from home in Sunday’s $125,000 Swynford Stakes at Woodbine, but the 2-year-old colt by Curlin turned in a strong late run and was up in the final yards to win his first stakes race by three quarters of a length. Now 3-2-1-0 for trainer Cathal Lynch, he has earned $93,263 to date. John Sadler’s Rockport Kat tried stakes company for the first time in the $75,000 Zia Park Sprint Stakes, rallied to take charge at the eighth pole and drew off smartly from there to a 3-1/2 length victory. It’s the second win in six starts this year for the 5-year-old gelding by Rockport Harbor, trained by his owner, leaving him with a 10-4-0-0 record and earnings of $141,305.
