Gary Logsdon went to $48,000 for Hip No. 568, a son of Chitu consigned by Michelle Redding, Agent. The chestnut colt is out of stakes winner Prize Informant, by Marciano, a half sister to stakes winner Wise Answer.
Blue River Bloodstock paid $47,000 for Hip No. 366, Dana’s Beauty, a daughter of Not This Time consigned by Bobby Jones Equine LLC, Agent. The dark bay or brown filly is out of City Siren, by City Zip, from the family of Preakness Stakes (G1) winner Cloud Computing.
Hip No 668, a daughter of Alternation consigned by Kaizen Sales (Richard Kent), Agent, went to Jorge V. Gonzalez for $47,000. The bay filly is out of True Bliss, by Yes It’s True, a half sister to graded stakes winner Hierro.
For the session, 263 yearlings sold for a total of $3,332,400, averaging $12,671 with a median figure of $8,000. The buyback percentage was 24.4%.
A year ago, in two Open sessions, 296 horses sold for a total of $3,874,750, averaging $13,090 with a $7,000 median figure. The buyback percentage was 23.5%.
At Tuesday’s Selected session, 132 horses sold for a total of $5,784,200, compared with 138 yearlings bringing $5,658,000 at the 2018 Selected Sale. The average price was $43,820, up 6.9% compared with $41,000 last year, while the median price was $32,000, a 14.3% increase compared with $28,000 in 2018. The buyback percentage was 29%; it was 25.8% a year ago. Sixteen horses sold for $100,000 or more compared with nine a year ago.
The sale topper was Hip No. 224, a son of Liam’s Map consigned by Select Sales, Agent, purchased by de Meric Stables, Agent, for $230,000. The gray or roan colt is out of Dad’ssilverpitcher, by Giant’s Causeway, a half sister to stakes winner Melodic.

Hip No. 185, a son of Empire Maker consigned by Summerfield (Francis & Barbara Vanlangendonck), Agent, was also sold to de Meric Stables, Agent, for $190,000. The bay colt is out of Sweetest Sound, by Smart Strike, a full sister to graded stakes placed Saint Vigeur from the family of champion Sweet Catomine.

Shepherd Equine Advisors, Agent for Larry Hirsch paid $100,000 for Hip No.143, a daughter of Temple City consigned by Kerri Szegi, Agent. The gray or roan filly is out of Part of the Charm, by Tapit, a full sister to graded stakes winner Dancinginherdreams.
Hip No. 181, a daughter of Uncaptured consigned by Stuart Morris, Agent, went to Shooting Star TB for $100,000. The chestnut filly, a half sister to graded stakes placed stakes winning OBS graduate You Bought Her, is out of Striking T, by Smart Strike.
