Palace captures Belmont’s True North Stakes

Antonino Miuccio’s Palace was overlooked at 9-1 in Friday’s $250, 000 True North Stakes (G2) at Belmont, but rallied wide into the lane, hit the front a furlong from home and scored by three quarters of a length. It’s the fourth stakes win for the 5-year-old son of City Zip, whose resume also includes a victory in last November’s Fall Highweight Handicap (G3) at Aqueduct. Sold for $160,000 by Crupi’s New Castle Farm, Agent, at the 2011 OBS March Sale after an Under Tack eighth in :10 flat, he’s now 18-9-4-2 and has earned $719,550. watch his under tack video

June Sale Under Tack Show begins Monday

The Under Tack Show for the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company’s 2014 June Sale of Two-Year-Olds and Horses of Racing Age begins Monday, June 9th and continues through Saturday, June 14th.  All six sessions begin at 7:30 a.m.

Hip No.’s 1-200 breeze on Monday, Hip No.’s 201-400 work Tuesday, Hip No.’s 401-600 go to the track Wednesday, Hip No.’s 601-800 work Thursday, Hip No.’s 801-1000 breeze Friday and Hip No.’s 1001-1216,  work on Saturday. The final session includes the 18 horses in the supplemental catalog, which can be viewed in the OBS website and  via the Equineline Sales Catalog iPad App. Printed supplemental catalogs will be available at the sales grounds.

There are 1,178 two-year-olds and 34 older horses cataloged for the four-day sale, set for Tuesday June 17th through Friday, June 20th, with all four sessions beginning at 10:30 a.m.

As always, the sale and Under Tack Show will be streamed live via the OBS website at obssales.com, and also via the Blood-Horse and DRF websites. The works will be available on DVD and on the OBS website, as well as in the video room adjacent to the Horsemen’s Lounge and at kiosks in the breezeway and covered walking ring areas.  In-room viewing is available at The Courtyard by Marriott, Homewood Suites, Hampton Inn & Suites, Residence Inn and the Ocala Hilton, plus lounge viewing is available at the Hilton.

The supplemental catalog to the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company’s 2014 June Sale of Two-Year-Olds and Horses of Racing Age is now available on the company’s website at obssales.com.

Two Three-Year-Olds and 16 Two-Year-Olds have been supplemented and will sell after the older horse section as Hip No’s 1199 – 1216 on the sale’s fourth day, Friday, June 20th.  Catalog pages will be available at the sales grounds and on the OBS website.  All supplemented horses will breeze at the sixth Under Tack session on Saturday, June 14th.

There are 1,178 two-year-olds and 34 older horses cataloged for the four-day OBS sale, set for Tuesday June 17th through Friday, June 20th, with all sessions beginning at 10:30 a.m.
