Hip No. 478, a 2-year-old son of Gio Ponti consigned by Wavertree Stables, Inc (Ciaran Dunne), Agent, went to Conquest Stables LLC for $250,000 to top the Horses of Racing Age Section of the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company’s 2015 Fall Mixed Sale. The unraced dark bay or brown colt, who breezed three eighths in :33 flat at the Under Tack Show, is out of Groovitude, by Dixie Union, a half sister to graded stakes winner Easter Gift.
Hip No. 508, Hardcore, a maiden 3-year-old daughter of Hard Spun consigned by Crying Crooner Bloodstock was purchased by Preferred Equine, Agent, for $42,000. The bay filly, a half sister to graded stakes placed stakes winner Mountain Range, is out of Proper Form, by Deputy Minister.
Hip No. 551, an unraced 2-year-old son of Bellamy Road consigned by Eisaman Equine, Agent, was sold to Bradley Thoroughbreds LLC, Agent, for $37,000. The chestnut colt, who worked an Under Tack eighth in :10 1/5, is out of stakes placed Bafferta, by In Excess (IRE).
Hip No. 517, Sunshine Life, a maiden 2-year-old filly by Daaher went to Bernell Rhone for $30,000. Consigned by Crying Crooner Bloodstock, the bay filly is out of Samut (IRE), by Danehill, and is a half sister to stakes winner Iuturna.
Hip No. 502, Jazz Player, a 4-year-old chestnut gelding by Malibu Moon consigned by Classic Bloodstock (Danzel Brendemuehl), Agent, was sold to Gary Contessa, Agent, for $29,000. Out of Partyship, by Premiership, the half brother to graded stakes placed stakes winner Barrier Reef worked the Under Tack Show’s co-fastest three eighths, stopping the timer in :32 4/5.
Hip No. 484, an unraced 2-year-old son of Trappe Shot whose quarter in :21 flat was the Under Tack Show’s fastest at the distance, was purchased by CMA Land Co. for $27,000. Consigned by TdM Sales (Tristan & Valery de Meric), Agent, the dark bay or brown colt is out of Kelley’s Dancer, by Forest Grove, a half sister to stakes winner D’wild Ride.
For the Racing Age Section, 54 horses brought a total of $769,100 compared with 51 horses selling for a total of $1,316,500 last year. The average price was $14,243 compared with $25,814 a year ago while the median was $6,000 compared with $11,500 in 2014. The buyback percentage was 26%, identical to last year.
Hip No. 299, Hangover Saturday, a 3-year-old stakes winning daughter of Pomeroy in foal to Big Drama, topped the Open session, going to Angela Ingenito for $45,000. Consigned by Summerfield (Francis & Barbara Vanlangendonck), Agent, she’s out of Margarita Friday, by Johannesburg, from the family of champion Housebuster.
Hip No. 361, Bountempo, a 12-year-old mare by Cape Town in foal to Handsome Mike, was sold to Mersad Metanovic Bloodstock for $30,000. The stakes winning gray or roan mare, also consigned by Summerfield, is out of Rosekris, by Kris S., a half sister to champion Benburb, and is the dam of current 2-year-old Cash Bonus, a winner of three of races including the El Joven Stakes on October 3rd.
Summerfield also consigned Hip No. 414, a weanling son of Soldat sold to Other Things LLC for $22,000. The bay colt is out of stakes placed Winsockie, by Trippi, from the family of stakes winning stakes producer Vany.
For the Open session, 151 horses brought a total of $806,700, compared with 126 selling for a total of $617,600 in 2014. The average was $5,342, up from $4,902 a year ago, median price was $4,200 compared with $2,850 last year. The buyback percentage was 24.1%; it was 30.4% a year ago.
At Tuesday’s Consignor Preferred session, 113 horses sold for a total of 1,690,700, compared with 138 horses selling for a total of $2,297,900 at last year’s session. The average was $14,962 compared with $16,651 in 2014 while the median price rose to $9,000 from $8,750 last year. The buyback percentage was 32.3%; it was 29.9% a year ago.

Hip No. 137, Puddifoot, a 4-year-old stakes winning daughter of Red Giant consigned by Kaizen Sales (Richard Kent), Agent, went to Joy Ventures LLC for $120,000 to top the Consignor Preferred session of the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company’s 2015 Fall Mixed Sale. The gray or roan filly is out of graded stakes winner Theresa’s Tizzy, by Cee’s Tizzy, and is a half sister to graded stakes winner Got the Last Laugh.
Hip No. 85, a weanling daughter of Treasure Beach (GB) consigned by Pleasant Acres Farm, Agent, was sold to Gail Thompson for $75,000. The bay filly is out of Outstanding Henny, by Hennessy, a daughter of graded stakes placed stakes winner Outstanding Info.
Crupi’s New Castle Farm, JJ Crupi, Agent, paid $65,000 for Hip No. 126, Dinner’s Out (GB), a 7-year-old stakes placed daughter of War Front consigned by Glen Hill Farm. The bay mare, in foal to Stormy Atlantic, is out of Spring Stroll, by Skywalker, from the family of grade one winner First Approach.
Hip No. 77, a dark bay or brown weanling colt by Violence consigned by Sugar Hill LLC, Agent, went to Rhinestone Diva for $50,000. He’s out of stakes placed Northern Vacation, by Yankee Victor, a half sister to graded stakes winner Salty Strike.
Hip No. 83, Temper, a 4-year-old Giant’s Causeway mare in foal to The Factor, was sold to H & E Ranch for $50,000. The bay mare, consigned by Top Line Sales LLC, Agent, is out of stakes winner Open Story, by Open Forum, and is half sister to stakes placed Love Buzz.
Hip No. 141, a weanling filly by Majesticperfection consigned by Pleasant Acres Farm, Agent, also brought $50,000, going to H. H., Agent. The gray or roan filly is out of Trade Fair, by Langfuhr, a half sister to champion Sand Cove.

A 2-year-old Crown of Thorns filly and a 4-year-old Malibu Moon gelding sped three eighths in :32 4/5 to share honors for the fastest works at the distance at the Under Tack Show for the Horses of Racing Age section of the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company’s 2015 Fall Mixed Sale.
Hip No. 504, consigned by Woodford Thoroughbreds, Agent, is a 2-year-old chestnut filly by Crown of Thorns out of Phanie Slam, by Grand Slam, and is a half sister to stakes placed Phaniebdancing.

M. Racing, R. Dang, M. Pageler, Gatto Racing & M. Mellen et al’s Surfside Tiara led a 1-2-3 OBS sweep of Sunday’s $95,000 Anoakia Stakes at Santa Anita, coming from off the pace to catch Uptown Twirl (March ’15) in deep stretch and score by half a length. Find Joy (April ’15) settled for third. It’s the first stakes win for the 2-year-old daughter of Scat Daddy, trained by Jerry Hollendorfer, now 4-2-1-0 with $96,350 in earnings. She breezed a quarter in :20 4/5 at the Under Tack Show prior to the 2015 OBS March Sale, before she was purchased by her trainer for $120,000 out of the Eddie Woods consignment. watch her under tack video
James L. Driver and H. Ywachetta’s Rivers Run Deep defended his title in the $150,000 Best of Ohio Sprint Stakes on Saturday at Thistledown, taking over from front-running fellow OBS graduate Candy Bites (April ’12) a sixteenth from home and beating him by a length and three quarters. It’s the eighth stakes win for the 4-year-old colt by Ready’s Image, who worked an Under Tack eighth in :10 flat before he was purchased for $77,000 by Garry Simms, Agent for James Driver, out of the Rod McVey consignment at the 2013 OBS June Sale. Trained by Chris Hartman, he’s now 23-10-7-3 and has earned $589,450 to date. watch his under tack video
Jason DaCosta’s Unbridled Trick picked a good spot to break his maiden, battling down the stretch with fellow OBS graduate Sawyers Mickey (April ’15) in Thistledown’s $150,000 Juvenile Stakes and edging him by a head. The 2-year-old gelding by Songandaprayer, trained by his owner, is now 4-1-2-1 and has earned $106,250. He was sold for $1,300 by G.T.M. Corp. at the 2014 OBS August Sale.

There are 98 horses cataloged in the Racing Age section, which begins with Hip No. 465 and includes Hip No. 562, supplemented to the sale since the catalog went online. A printed version of the catalog for the Racing Age section is now available at the sales grounds as well as via the OBS website at http://obssales.com. It is included in the searchable and sortable master index, which provides links to past performances, under tack videos, pedigree and consignor information as well as pedigree updates occurring since the catalog was printed.

The Racing Age Section features unraced 2-year-olds sired by an impressive group of stallions that includes Awesome Again, Bellamy Road, Congrats, First Dude, Harlan’s Holiday, Kantharos, Lookin At Lucky, Majesticperfection, Malibu Moon, Mineshaft, Unbridled’s Song and leading first crop sire Uncle Mo.
In addition, several 2-year-olds in the sale were winners in Maiden Special Weight company in their first starts. Hip No. 494, Final Encore, a colt by Scat Daddy, was a winner at Gulfstream on September 20th. Pyrite Tonight, Hip No. 512, a filly by In Summation, was a winner in her only start in August and Hip No. 520, Point of No Return, a daughter of Concord Point, won at first asking at Churchill Downs last spring.
The Racing Age section also includes a number of horses with black type credentials, including Hip No. 553, the lightly raced 3-year-old stakes winning filly Pyrite Blue Magna, winner of three of her four starts, as well as Hip No. 554, stakes placed Pyrite Blues. Since the catalog was printed, Hip No. 550, Pyrite Mill, was third in the Catlaunch Stakes at Thistledown on September 26th.

John C. Oxley’s Airoforce is two for two and a graded stakes winner after coming from off the pace and scoring in Sunday’s $250,000 Dixiana Bourbon Stakes on the turf course at Keeneland. The 2-year-old son of Colonel John sped a quarter in :21 flat before he was purchased for $350,000 out of the Richardson Bloodstock consignment at the 2015 OBS April Sale. Doubledown Stables’ Ben’s Duchess was last in a field of five early in the $100,000 L.A. Woman Stakes (G3) at Santa Anita on Sunday, but the 3-year-old Munnings filly circled her rivals on the turn, took the lead a furlong from the wire and drew away to a 3-1/4 length victory. Trained by John Sadler, she picked up her first stakes win while improving her record to 9-4-1-4 and increasing her earnings to $222,936. Thoroughbred Acquisition Group and Joseph Saffie’s Saraguaro picked up his first stakes win on Saturday in the $150,000 Florida Sire Foolish Pleasure Stakes with a determined run that carried him past the leaders in the stretch to a two length victory. The 3-year-old Florida-bred colt by Express Tour is a two-time OBS graduate, first purchased by Jose Munoz out of the Hickory Meadow Farm (Clare Silva) consignment at the 2013 August Yearling Sale. After breezing an Under Tack quarter in :21 2/5 prior to the 2014 April Sale, he was sold by Mr. Munoz to Mr. Saffie for $33,000. N.T.S. Stable and Kathryn Davey’s Andreya’s Reward circled horses to reach contention in the stretch of the $75,000 Our Dear Peggy Stakes on Saturday at Gulfstream, took command in the final furlong and scored by two lengths. It’s the first stakes win for the 2-year-old Warrior’s Reward filly, traind by Milt Wolfson, now 3-2-0-0 with $76,380 in earnings. Pinnacle Racing Stable and Norman Stables’ Moment of Delight scored her first stakes win at Gulfstream on Saturday, romping to a 6-1/4 length victory in the $150,000 Florida Sire Meadow Star Stakes. A 3-year-old Florida-bred daughter of A. P. Warrior, she breezed an Under Tack eighth in :10 1/5 before she was sold for $58,000 to Pinnacle Racing by Southern Cypress Stable, Agent, at the 2014 OBS April Sale. Theresa Horky’s Worth the Worry took command of the $75,800 Last Dance Stakes at Suffolk Downs on Saturday on the second turn and ran away from there, galloping to an easy 9-1/2 length victory. It’s the second straight stakes win for the 5-year-old gelding by Hook and Ladder, trained by Jonathan Buckley, now 16-9-2-1 with $138,880 in earnings. He was consigned by Sharon Biamonte to the 2012 OBS Winter Mixed Sale.

LNJ Foxwoods’ Inheritance, sold for an OBS record $1.9-million at this year’s April Sale, took the lead at the start of a one mile $75, 000 Maiden Special Weight test at Belmont on Sunday and improved her position from there, cruising to an effortless 16 length victory. The 2-year-old old daughter of Tapit, who settled for second in her only other start, is trained by Steve Asmussen. After breezing an eighth in :10 1/5 at the Under Tack Show, she was purchased for the highest price in OBS history by Solis & Litt out of the Woodford Thoroughbreds consignment.
