Speedway Stable LLC’s Collected is the newest OBS millionaire after a wire to wire win in Del Mar’s $1, 000, 000 Pacific Classic (G1). He took the lead at the start, turned back San Diego Handicap (G2) winner Accelerate on the turn then held off a late run by champion Arrogate and scored by half a length. It’s the fifth graded stakes win for the 4-year-old son of City Zip, trained by Bob Baffert, and leaves him with an 11-8-1-0 career record. Four for four this year, he has earned $1,260,500 to date. Michael Dubb’s Literata stalked the pace-setter in the early going of Monday’s $100, 000 Saratoga Dew Stakes, took command a half mile from home, turned back a challenge at the sixteenth pole and prevailed by half a length. It’s the first stakes win for the 6-year-old mare by Read the Footnotes, now 33-8-9-4 for trainer Rudy Rodriguez. She was purchased for $18,000 out of the Casey Newick consignment at the 2012 OBS August Yearling Sale.

A pair of unbeaten 2-year-old OBS graduates posted dominating victories on Saturday in graded stakes at Del Mar and Saratoga.

Kaleem Shah’s Run Away is three for three after sitting just off the early lead in Del Mar’s $200, 000 Best Pal Stakes (G2), taking command at the head of the stretch and drawing off to a 3-1/2 length victory. It’s the second stakes win for the colt by Run Away and Hide, purchased for $35,000 out of the Bill Murphy consignment at the 2016 OBS August Yearling Sale. Trained by Simon Callaghan, he has earned $212,400 to date.

In the $200,000 Adirondack Stakes (G2) at Saratoga, Twin Creeks Racing Stables, LLC’s Pure Silver scored her second stakes victory and third win in as many starts, quickly going to the lead despite an awkward start. The daughter of Mission Impazible turned back a challenge on the turn, drew off turning for home and ran away down the stretch to a 9-1/2 length victory. Trained by Todd Pletcher, she has earned $217,200 and is the first graded stakes winner for her sire. Abdullah Saeed Almaddah’s Green Mask is the newest OBS millionaire after taking charge of Sunday’s $250, 000 Troy Stakes at Saratoga coming to the eighth pole and drawing clear to win by a length and three quarters. The time for five furlongs on the turf was 1:00.49, just missing OBS graduate Lady Shipman’s (April ’14) track record 1:00.46. It’s the third stakes win of the year for the 6-year-old gelding by Mizzen Mast, purchased for $150,000 out of the Casse Sales LLC (Justin Casse) consignment at the 2013 OBS April Sale after an Under Tack eighth in :10 1/5. Trained by Brad Cox, he’s now 27-8-8-3 and has earned $1,064,761 to date. watch his under tack video

Wong Chi Tat’s Forever Young led from start to finish and won Singapore’s $300,000 Chairman’s Trophy (G2) on Sunday by half a length. It’s the second graded stakes victory for the 3-year-old colt by Run Away and Hide, who captured the Singapore Guineas (G1) in the same front-running style on May 14^th. Trained by Kuah Cheng Tee, he’s now 8-4-0-1 and has earned $533,285 to date. Richard Keith’s American Dubai took the lead after a quarter in the $200,000 Downs at Albuquerque Handicap and ran away from there, scoring an easy nine length victory. It’s the second stakes win for the 4-year-old colt by E Dubai, trained by Rodney Richards, now 15-6-2-3 with $406,122 in earnings. Raroma Stable’s unbeaten Phantom Ro took charge at the start of Saturday’s $100,000 FTBOA Florida Sire Dr. Fager Stakes at Gulfstream and the 2-year-old Florida-bred gelding by Wildcat Heir led all the way, drawing off in the lane to a 2-3/4 length victory. Scott’s Galleon Mast was relaxed in the early going of Gulfstream’s $75,000 Eight Miles East Stakes on Sunday, rallied wide to reach the lead in the stretch and then turned back a challenge by fellow OBS graduate My Point Exactly (April ’14, August ’13) and won by a head. Backer Stakes at Laurel, moved to the outside down the stretch and closed with a rush to get up in the final yards and score by a neck. Cole’s 6-year-old Roman Officer successfully defended his title in the $75,000 West Virginia Legislature Chairman’s Cup Stakes at Mountaineer Park on Saturday, leading every step of the way and turning back fellow OBS graduate American Sailor (April ’14) by a length. It’s his third win in four starts this year for trainer Kevin Patterson, leaving him 40-13-5-6 with earnings of $325,014. Consigned by SAB Sales (Scott A. Flurry Racing Stables LLC’s Mr. Understood picked up his first stakes win on Saturday in the $60,000 Super Derby Prelude Stakes on the turf course at Louisiana Downs, rallying to take the lead after turning for home and cruising to a 2-1/2 length victory. The 5-year-old Florida-bred gelding by Midshipman tracked the early leaders, took charge a furlong from home and eased away to win by a length and a quarter. It’s the first stakes win for the two-time OBS graduate, sold by Crowes Nest Farm at the 2013 Winter Mixed Sale. Small Bear (April ’16) and Perfect Partner (March ’16) rallied to be second and third.
