Michael Langford’s Untrapped sat just off the pace in Sunday’s $400,000 Oklahoma Derby (G3) at Remington Park, moved to the leaders on the outside down the stretch and drew off late to win by a length and three quarters. It’s the first stakes win for the 3-year-old colt by Trappe Shot, on the board in five graded stakes earlier this year. Now 10-2-3-3 for trainer Steve Asmussen, he has earned $601,755 to date. OBS graduates accounted for three other stakes victories on the Oklahoma Derby card:

Ciaglia Racing, Exline-Border, Gulliver Racing, Sharon Alesia, Christensen, and Legan’s champion Champagne Room, away from the races since February, returned in style in the $220,000 Remington Park Oaks. The 2016 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies (G1) winner took the lead at the start and never looked back, coasting to a 3-3/4 length victory. That’s three stakes wins for the 3-year-old daughter of Broken Vow, purchased for $310,000 by Larry Zap, Agent for Joseph Ciaglia, Jr. out of the de Meric Sales consignment at the 2016 April Sale after speeding a quarter in :20 4/5 at the Under Tack Show. William & Corrinne Heiligbrodt’s Golden Mischief came from fourth in a field of five in the $55,000 Flashy Lady Stakes, closing stoutly down the stretch and getting up late to win by a neck. It’s the fourth stakes victory for the 3-year-old daughter of Into Mischief, trained by Steve Asmussen, now 15-6-3-0 with earnings of $355,830 to date. Jordan V. Wycoff’s Gianna’s Dream captured her fourth stakes win in the $75,000 Ricks Memorial Stakes, taking command a furlong from home and easing away to a 1-1/4 length victory. Fellow OBS graduate Joyous Thunder (August ’14) settled for third. The 4-year-old Twirling Candy filly was sold for $42,000  by Perrone Sales, Ltd., Agent, at the 2014 OBS August Selected Yearling Sale. Now 16-8-1-4 for trainer Mike Maker, she’s has earned $323,791. Kaleem Shah’s Run Away came charging from well off the pace in Saturday’s $100,000 Barretts Juvenile Stakes at Los Alamitos and was up in the final strides to win by a head, with fellow OBS graduate Crazy Uncle Rick (June ’17, August ’16) checking in third. That’s four wins in five starts for the 2-year-old colt by Run Away and Hide, winner of Del Mar’s Best Pal Stakes (G2). He’s now 5-4-0-1 with $304,400 in earnings for trainer Simon Callaghan. He was purchased for $35,000 out of the Bill Murphy consignment at the 2016 OBS August Yearling Sale.

Team D’s Get Jets circled horses on the turn in Belmont’s $125,000 Ashley T. Cole Stakes on Sunday, reached the leaders in the final furlong and held off a late challenge to win by a nose. That’s two straight stakes wins and three overall for the 4-year-old colt by Scat Daddy, trained by Anthony Dutrow, now 11-6-3-0 with $525,850 in earnings. He was purchased for $300,000 by Team D out of the Cary Frommer consignment at the 2015 OBS April Sale after working in eighth in :11 flat at the Under Tack Show. watch his under tack video

OBS graduates captured both ends of Churchill’s graded stakes doubleheader for 2-year-olds on Saturday, including a one-two finish by alumni of last year’s Yearling Sale.

Craig D. Upham’s Patrona Margarita was overlooked at 23-1 in the $200, 000 Pocahontas Stakes (G2), but the 2-year-old daughter of Special Rate relaxed in the early going, circled horses on the turn, took the lead turning for home and drew away to win by 3-3/4 lengths over fellow 2016 OBS August Yearling Sale graduate Kelly’s Humor. Now 4-2-0-1 with earnings of $150,253 for trainer Bret Calhoun, she was consigned to the sale by Stoneview Farm, Agent.

Carolyn Wilson’s undefeated The Tabulator is three for three and a graded stakes winner after tracking the early pace in the $150,000 Iroquois Stakes (G3), taking command on the turn and scoring by three quarters of a length. Trained by Larry Rivelli, he has earned $143,550 to date. The 2-year-old colt by Dialed In was purchased for $460,000 out of the Wavertree Stables consignment at the 2017 OBS March Sale after turning in an Under Tack eighth in :10 flat. watch his under tack video 

Bantry Farms’ Grace’s Treasure was awarded victory via disqualification in the $100,000 Open Mind Stakes at Churchill Downs on Saturday.  It’s the first stakes win for the 4-year-old daughter of Rockport Harbor, two for two this year and 9-4-0-0 overall for trainer Michael Ann Ewing with $127,704 in earnings. She was purchased for $55,000 out of the Andy Cant consignment at the 2014 OBS Winter Mixed Sale.

Shadybrook Farm, Inc. and Pam Klein’s Katinka picked up her first stakes victory in the $100,000 Miss Gracie Stakes on Saturday at Gulfstream, battling head to head down the stretch and putting her nose down first on the wire. The 3-year-old Florida-bred filly by Kantharos is a two time OBS graduate, sold first at the 2015 August Yearling Sale by Turtle Pond Farm, Agent. She was resold to Shadybrook Farm for $17,000 by Julie Davies, Agent, at the 2016  June Sale after turning in an Under Tack eighth in :10 1/5. Patricia’s Hope LLC’s Good Bye Greg scored his first stakes win on Saturday at Arlington, taking the lead at the start of the $66,600 Jeff Lynn Memorial Stakes and never looking back en route to a 6-1/2 length victory. Trained by Larry Rivelli, the 6-year-old Florida-bred son of Teuflesburg, three for three this year, is now 13-8-2-1 and has earned $218,326 to date. Sansinenea Racing Stable LLC’s 7-year-old Mal Guapo tried stakes company for just the second time in 49 starts, but took the lead at the start of Sunday’s $50,000 Perfect Season Stakes at Gulfstream and was never headed, scoring his first stakes win by 4-1/4 lengths. The gelding by Into Mischief is a three time veteran of the OBS Sales ring, sold by Summerfield, Agent the 2010 Fall Mixed Sale before he was consigned by Blue River Bloodstock to the 2011 August Yearling Sale. He sped an Under Tack quarter in :21 4/5 before he was resold for $57,000  by Blue River Bloodstock at the 2012 June Sale. Flurry Racing Stables LLC’s Mr. Misundertood came from just off the pace to take charge of Saturday’s $200, 000 Super Derby at Louisiana Downs a furlong from home and drew away from there to beat fellow OBS graduate Phat Man (March ’16) by three lengths. It’s the second straight stakes win for the 3-year-old gelding by Archarcharch, trained by Brad Cox, leaving him with a 10-6-1-0 record with $234,794 in earnings. Steve Landers Racing LLC’s Lady O’Toole picked up her first stakes victory in the $60,000 Happy Ticket Stakes. The 2-year-old Florida-bred filly by Colonel John took charge on the turn for home and then drew away down the stretch, scoring by 3-1/2 lengths. Now 4-3-0-0 for trainer Brad Cox, she has earned $82,470 to date. Greg Allen Johnson’s Net Gain turned in a strong performance in the $60,000 Unbridled Stakes, circling horses on the turn, taking the lead turning for home and drawing away down the stretch to a 3-1/2 length victory. That’s three stakes wins for the 5-year-old son of Include, sold for $325,000 by Scanlon Training Center, Agent, at the 2014 OBS April Sale after turning in an Under Tack eighth in :10 1/5. Whispering Oaks Farm LLC’s Eden Grey’s Kitten was up in the final yards after a long drive in the $50,000 Need For Speed Stakes, scoring by a neck. It’s the second stakes win for the 5-year-old Kitten’s Joy gelding, trained by Steven Flint, now 25-9-6-3 with $295,360 in earnings. At Los Alamitos Race Course on Saturday, Jeff Bonde, Edward J. Brown and Karen Norton’s Princess Karen went to the front at the start of the $75,000 Beverly J. Lewis Stakes and never looked back, leading from gate to wire and scoring by a length and a quarter over fellow OBS graduate Faypien (April ’16). It’s the first stakes win for the 3-year-old Stay Thirsty filly, trained by Jeff Bonde, now 6-3-0-0 with $120,705 in earnings. Conrad Farms’ Shamrock Rose got her career off to a flying start at Woodbine on Saturday, coming from off the pace to take the $100,000 Ontario Debutante Stakes by a length and quarter in her first trip to the post. Sagamore Farm and Stanley M. Hough’s Barry Lee is two for three and a stakes winner after sweeping to the lead in the stretch of Saturday’s $75,000 Arlington-Washington Futurity and scoring by three quarters of a length. The 2-year-old colt by Violence sped an Under Tack eighth in :9 4/5 before he was purchased by Sagamore for $380,000 out of the de Meric Sales consignment at the 2017 OBS March Sale. Patricia’s Hope LLC’s Moms Choice led a 1-2-3 OBS sweep of the $66,900  Avers Wexler Memorial Stakes at Arlington, leading all the way en route to a four length victory over Princess Erindelle (August ’14). Majestic Angel (June ’15) checked in third.  It was the first stakes victory for the 4-year-old daughter of Kitten’s Joy, who breezed an Under Tack eighth in :10 2/5 before she was purchased for $160,000 out of the Wavertree Stables consignment at the 2015 OBS March Sale. Ken and Sarah Ramsey’s Sir Dudley Digges came wide off the turn into the stretch of Thursday’s $150, 000 Old Friends Stakes at Kentucky Downs, battled down the lane and got up in the final yards to win by a head. The Queen’s Plate winner is now 18-5-5-3 for trainer Mike Maker, and has earned $752,184 to date. Rizzo and Ralph Klicker’s Like What I See went straight from a maiden win to Woodbine’s $102,200 Colin Stakes on Saturday, took the lead at the start and never looked back, scoring by half a length over  fellow OBS graduate Piven (April ’17, Ocotber ’15).
