Allen Racing LLC and Bloom Racing Stable LLC’s Midnight Bisou broke her maiden in style at Santa Anita on Sunday, stalking the pace in the $201,035 Santa Ynez Stakes (G2),taking over from fellow OBS graduate Steph Being Steph (April ’17) inside the eighth pole, then drawing off to beat her to the wire by 4-1/2 lengths. The 3-year-old daughter of Midnight Lute, trained by Bill Spawr, is now 3-1-2-0 with $150,000 in earnings. Derek Chin’s Piven rallied to take charge of Saturday’s $75,000 Limehouse Stakes at Gulfstream Park a furlong from home, then smartly drew off to his first stakes victory by four lengths. Fellow OBS graduate Empire Power (June ’17) checked in third. It’s the first stakes score for the two-time OBS graduate, sold by Turtle Pond Farm, Agent, at the 2015 Fall Mixed Sale and then resold to Mr. Chin for $75,000 by SBM Training & Sales, Agent, at the 2017 April Sale after turning in an Under Tack eighth in :10 1/5. Sterling Racing LLC, John Herzberg and Michelle Allan’s Durocher sat just off the pace in Saturday’s $75,000 Tropical Park Derby on the Gulfstream Park turf course, came out for the drive, wore down the leaders late and edged away to a three quarter length victory. It’s the first stakes win for the now 4-year-old colt by Niagara Causeway, trained by Joseph Russo, who ended his 3-year-old campaign 13-5-0-4 with earnings of $135,173. A two-time OBS graduate, he was sold as a yearling by Beth Bayer, Agent, at the 2015 Fall Mixed Sale, and then purchased for $20,000 out of the McKathan Bros. consignment at the 2016 June Sale after turning in an Under Tack eighth in :10 flat. watch his under tack video

Flurry Racing Stables LLC’s Mr. Misunderstood ended his 3-year-old campaign with seven wins in eight starts, taking command of Saturday’s $75,000 Woodchopper Stakes at Fair Grounds after turning for home and drawing off to victory by a length an three quarters. It’s the fifth straight stakes win for the graded stakes winning gelding by Archarcharch, consigned by Woodford Thoroughbreds, Agent, to the 2016 OBS March Sale, and sold for $130,000 after breezing an Under Tack eighth in :10 1/5. Exline-Border Racing LLC, Gatto Racing LLC & Garrett Zubok’s Giant Expectations was overlooked at 13-1 going into Tuesday’s $300,000 San Antonio Stakes (G2) at Santa Anita, but the 4-year-old colt by Frost Giant took the lead at the start and was never headed, cruising to a 3-1/4 length victory. Fellow OBS graduate Collected (March ’15) rallied to finish third. It’s the second graded stakes win for the 2015 OBS March graduate, purchased for $135,000 by Ryan Exline out of the de Meric Sales consignment after turning in an eighth in :10 flat at the Under Tack Show. Rockingham Ranch & Gelfenstein Farm’s X Y Jet went right to the lead at the start of Saturday’s $100,000 Mr. Prospector Stakes (G3) at Gulfstream Park, set rapid fractions into the stretch then held on gamely to win by half a length. It’s the third graded stakes win for the 5-year-old Florida-bred son of Kantharos, a nine length winner of the Mr. Prospector (G3) in 2015. Trained by Jorge Navarro, he has compiled an 18-7-6-2 career record and earned $860,053 to date.  The two time OBS graduate was first consigned by Two Sharp Hats to the 2013 Winter Mixed Sale before they sold him for $56,000 at the 2013 August Selected Yearling Sale. Selected Sale conformation photo

Winds of Change Racing Stable Corp.’s Rich Mommy tried stakes company for the first time in the $100,000 Sugar Swirl Stakes (G3) on Saturday at Gulfstream Park, and the 3-year-old daughter of Algorithms rallied to reach contention turning for home, took charge in the final furlong and scored by two lengths. She was purchased at the 2016 OBS June Sale by Winds of Change for $6,500 out of the Thoroughbreds Champions Training Center consignment after breezing an eighth in :10 2/5 at the Under Tack Show. Marco Thoroughbred Corp’s Mo Cash slipped between horses to take the lead approaching the head of the stretch in the $125,000 FTBOA Marion County Florida Sire Stakes at Tampa Bay Downs on Saturday, then held off favored Three Rules down the stretch to score by three quarters of a length. It’s the third stakes win for the graded stakes placed 4-year-old Florida-bred gelding by Adios Charlie, trained by Ron Spatz, now 8-4-2-0 with $246,984 in earnings.  He worked quarter in :22 flat at the Under Tack Show prior to being sold by Ocala Stud, Agent, for $11,000 at the 2016 OBS June Sale.  watch his under tack video

Lael Stable’s Tricks to Doo set the pace in Saturday’s $50,000 Inaugural Stakes at Tampa Bay Downs, opened up daylight on the turn and drew off down the stretch to a 7-1/4 length victory over fellow OBS graduate Arazi Like Move (March ‘17). Two for three with a third place finish for trainer Arnaud Delacour, the 2-year-old colt by Into Mischief has earned $59,300 to date. Bruce Tallisman’s Take Charge Paula sat just off the pace set by fellow OBS graduate Razorback Lady (June ’17, October ’15) in Saturday’s $75,000 House Party Stakes at Gulfstream Park, collared her turning for home, out-fought her to the wire and won by half a length. It’s the second straight stakes victory for the 2-year-old graded stakes placed daughter of Take Charge Indy, consigned to the 2017 OBS March Sale by Envision Equine on behalf of E. J. Sipus Jr. and purchased for $50,000 by Mr. Tallisman after she turned in an Under Tack eighth in :10 1/5. Treadway Racing Stable’s Malibu Saint relaxed well off the pace in Saturday’s $75,000 Wait a While Stakes on the Gulfstream turf course, moved wide to reach contention nearing the stretch, and ran past the leaders despite traffic trouble in the lane to win at half a length. It’s the first stakes victory for the 2-year-old daughter of Malibu Moon, trained by Mike Maker, now 5-2-1-1 with $81,481 in earnings. Town and Country Racing, LLC’s My Miss Chiff rallied to take charge of the $100,000 Louisiana Champions Day Ladies Sprint Stakes a furlong from home and held off fellow OBS graduate Look Into My Eyes (June ’14, January ’13) in the deep stretch to score by three quarters of a length. That’s two straight stakes wins for the 3-year-old graded stakes placed filly by Into Mischief, now 6-4-0-1 with earnings of $159,660 for trainer Albert Stall, Jr. She was sold for $60,000 by Tonya Jurgens, Agent, as a weanling at the 2014 OBS Fall Mixed Sale.
