The Supplemental Catalog for the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company’s 2021 June Sale of Two-Year-Olds and Horses of Racing Age is now available via the OBS website at obssales.com and available in printed form at the OBS sales grounds beginning on or about Monday, May 31st.
Forty-eight two-year-olds and five Horses of Racing Age have been supplemented to the three-day sale, and will sell as Hip No.’s 875 – 927. All sessions begin at 10:30 a.m. Hip No.’s 1 – 316 will sell on Tuesday, June 9th; Hip No.’s 317 – 632 will be offered on Wednesday, June 10th and Hip No.’s 633 – 874 plus supplements 875 – 927 will sell on Thursday, June 11th.
There are five Under Tack Sessions. Hip No.’s 1 – 185 will go to the track on Wednesday, June 2nd, Hip No.’s 186 – 370 work on Thursday, June 3rd, Hip No.’s 371 – 554 will breeze on Friday, June 4th, Hip No.’s 555 – 738 go Saturday, June 5th and Hip No.’s 739 – 874 plus supplements 875 – 927 will go on Sunday, June 6th. All Under Tack sessions begin at 7:30 a.m.
The Under Tack Show and Sale will be streamed live via the OBS website as well as the DRF, TDN, BloodHorse and Past The Wire websites.
OBS will again offer Online Bidding during the Spring Sale. Buyers will be able to go to the OBS website and register to gain bidding approval, then access the OBS Bidding Screen with their credentials. Three Diamonds Farm’s Army Wife moved to the leaders leaving the backstretch in Friday’s $250,000 Black-Eyed Susan Stakes (G2), took command a furlong from home and drew off late to score by 2-3/4 lengths. It’s the first stakes win for the 3-year-old daughter of Declaration of War, trained by Mike Maker, now 8-3-1-2 with $288,972 in earnings. Michael Dubb, Steve Hornstock, Bethlehem Stables LLC and Nice Guys Stables’ Last Judgment went right to the front in the $250,000 Pimlico Special Stakes (G3) on Friday and never looked back en route to a 1-3/4 length victory. It’s the second graded stakes win for the 5-year-old Florida-bred gelding by Congrats, who was purchased for $300,000 out of the Bobby Dodd consignment at the 2018 OBS Spring Sale after breezing an Under Tack eighth in :10 flat. Trainer Mike Maker posted his third weekend graded stakes win with an OBS graduate when Paradise Farms Corp. and David Staudacher’s Special Reserve took charge of Saturday’s $150,000 Maryland Sprint Match Series Stakes (G3) after turning for home and scored by a length and three quarters. It’s the first stakes win for the 5-year-old son of Midshipman, now 19-6-1-7 with $358,647 in earnings. Madaket Stables LLC, Wonder Stable, Paul Farr and Team Hanley’s lightly raced T D Dance was taken back early in Saturday’s $100,000 James W. Murphy Stakes, came after the leaders in the stretch, took over inside the eighth pole and drew off late to beat fellow OBS graduate Arzak (April ’20) by 3-3/4 lengths. Kernan, Jr. and Jagger Inc.’s The King Cheek took the lead at the start of the $100,000 Sir Barton Stakes, was headed in mid-stretch, then came again late and was best at the wire by a head. It’s the first stakes score for the 3-year-old son of Laoban, trained by Jamie Ness, now 9-4-2-0 with earnings of $132,575. Sonata Stable’s Moonlite Strike tracked the early leader in Saturday’s $75,000 Roar Stakes at Gulfstream on Saturday, took over after turning for home and drew away late to win by 3-1/4 lengths. It’s the first stakes victory for the 3-year-old graded stakes placed colt by Liam’s Map, a two-time OBS graduate, consigned by de Meric Sales, Agent, to the 2020 OBS March Sale where he went through the ring after an Under Tack quarter in :21 2/5. In the wake of 2020 June graduate Medina Spirit’s victory in the Kentucky Derby (G1), the catalog for the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company’s 2021 June Sale of Two-Year-Olds and Horses of Racing Age is now available via the OBS website at obssales.com. Supplemental entries are being accepted until May 19th.
There are 858 two-year-olds and 15 older horses cataloged for the three-day sale, with all sessions beginning at 10:30 a.m. Hip No.’s 1 – 316 will sell on Wednesday, June 9th; Hip No.’s 317 – 632 will be offered on Thursday, June 10th and Hip No.’s 633 – 874 plus supplements will sell on Friday, June 11th.
The Under Tack Show will have five sessions, from Wednesday, June 2nd through Sunday, June 6th. The daily schedules will be announced after the close of Supplemental entries. All Under Tack sessions begin at 7:30 a.m.

The 3-year-old Florida-bred colt by Protonico became the newest OBS millionaire with a 6-3-3-0 record for trainer Bob Baffert and earnings of $2,175,200. George Krikorian’s War Like Goddess made her debut last September at three, scored in her first two starts, and has posted graded stakes wins in her last two trips to the post. After a victory in Gulfstream’s Orchid Stakes (G3) in March, she returned to take Keeneland’s Bewitch Stakes (G3) on April 23rd. The 4-year-old daughter of English Channel, consigned to the 2019 OBS June Sale by Hemingway Racing and Training Stables, was sold for $30,000 after turning in an Under Tack eighth in :10 2/5. Trained by Carlos A. David, he compiled a 15-6-3-0 career record and earned a total of $1,131,760. Like The King, a 3-year-old colt by Palace Malice, has been on the board in all six starts and prepped for his Jeff Ruby victory with a second place effort in Turfway’s John Battaglia Memorial Stakes. The lightly raced Sainthood, by Mshawish, broke his maiden in his second start and was a good second to Like The King in the Jeff Ruby (G3) in his only other race.
