Klaravich Stables and William H. Lawrence’s Patternrecognition went straight to the front at the start of Aqueduct’s $784,125 Cigar Mile Handicap (G1) on Saturday and led all the way, cruising under the wire with a three quarter length victory. It’s the second straight graded stakes win for the 5-year-old Florida-bred son of Adios Charlie, trained by Chad Brown, now 11-5-5-0, with earnings of $812,325. Goldmart Farms and Royal Laser Racing’s Kingsport successfully defended his title in Sunday’s $100,000 Sir Barton Stakes at Woodbine, rating off the lead in the early going, moving to the leaders on the turn, taking over a quarter mile from home and drawing off to win by 3-3/4 lengths. It’s the ninth stakes victory for the 6-year-old son of Milwaukee Brew, who also took the Sir Barton in 2015. Now 31-11-7-3 for trainer Sid Attard, he has earned $695,945 to date. Danny J. Chen’s Yorkiepoo Princess took charge of Sunday’s $125,750 Autumn Days Stakes at Aqueduct at the top of the stretch, and the 4-year-old graded stakes placed Florida-bred daughter of Kantharos romped home from there, drawing away to a 5-3/4 length victory. It’s her fourth stakes win, leaving her with a 19-6-1-2 record and $435,627 in earnings. Beach Haven Thoroughbreds LLC’s Sassy Agnes posted her third straight stakes win in Friday’s $100,000 Key Cents Stakes at Aqueduct, taking the lead at the start and never looking back en route to victory by a length and a quarter. The 2-year-old daughter of Central Banker turned in an Under Tack eighth in :10 flat before she was sold for $105,000 by de Meric Sales, Agent, at the 2018 OBS March Sale. OBS grads warmed up for the holiday weekend with four stakes victories at Zia Park on Wednesday.

Peter Redekop B.C. Ltd.’s Alliford Bay circled horses on the turn to reach contention in the $100,000 Zia Park Distaff Stakes, caught front-running fellow OBS graduate Woman At the Well (March ’17, August ’16) coming to the eighth pole and eased away to beat her by three lengths. K P Wildcat (June ’15) rallied for third to complete the OBS trifecta. That’s five straight stakes scores and seven overall for the 4-year-old daughter of City Zip, who breezed an Under Tack eighth in :10 1/5 before she was purchased for $150,000 out of the Eisaman Equine consignment at the 2016 OBS April Sale. The Redekop/Wright combination scored a second stakes win two races later when Anyportinastorm went wire to wire in the $100,000 Zia Park Sprint Stakes, cruising to a 3-3/4 length victory. It’s the first stakes win for the 4-year-old Florida-bred City Zip colt, now 9-4-1-3 with $133,225 in earnings. He was sold for $320,000 by de Meric Sales, Agent for Golden Legacy Stables, at the 2016 OBS April Sale after breezing an eighth in :9 4/5 at the Under Tack Show. watch his under tack video

The next race saw Brittlyn Stable, Inc.’s Forevamo battle his way down the stretch and held on gamely to win the $150,000 Zia Park Championship Stakes by a head. It’s the second stakes victory for the graded stakes placed 5-year-old Florida-bred son of Uncle Mo, trained by Steve Asmussen, now 23-3-8-3 with $504,955 in earnings. The half brother to champion OBS graduate Musical Romance was consigned by Ocala Stud to the 2015 OBS April Sale, where he worked an Under Tack quarter in :21 3/5 before he was sold for $320,000.  watch his under tack video

Earlier in the afternoon, Charles Garvey’s Oil Money jumped from a maiden win into the $75,000 Zia Park Juvenile Stakes and had no problems with the class raise, taking the lead a quarter mile from home and drawing off down the stretch to a 3-1/2 length victory. The 2-year-old Florida-bred colt by J P’s Gusto is a two-time OBS graduate, sold first by Journeyman Bloodstock at the 2017 October Yearling Sale before he was purchased for $28,000 out of the Victory Stable consignment at the 2018 June Sale after turning in an Under Tack eighth in :10 flat. Trainer Mark Casse saddled the winners of the inaugural runnings of the OBS Sprint Stakes as the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company presented it’s 2018 November Day of Racing.

Gary Barber’s Lookin to Strike came running late to edge Grupo 7C Racing Stable’s Star Juancho in the shadow of the wire and win the $125,000 OBS Sprint by a nose, with Michael Dubb’s Yummy Bear a length back in third. Triple bug apprentice rider Declan Carroll picked up the first stakes win of his career aboard the graded stakes winning 3-year-old colt by Lookin At Lucky. The winner is a two-time OBS graduate, consigned by Select Sales to the 2016 Selected Yearling Sale and then sold at the 2017 April Sale by SBM Training & Sales, Agent, for $210,000 after turning in an Under Tack eighth in :10 flat. The victory leaves the winner with a 10-5-0-0 record and earnings of $195,644. watch his under tack video  Selected Sale conformation photo 

In the $125,000 OBS Filly and Mare Sprint, Bill and Vicki Poston Racing’s Southern Sis, came flying in the final sixteenth to beat Averill Racing et al’s R Happy Ending by two lengths, with Westbury Stables’ Sierra Aleone a nose back in third. It’s the first stakes win for the 4-year-old Florida-bred daughter of Kantharos, ridden by Tyler Gaffalione. The time for the six furlongs was 1:09 2/5. The two-time OBS graduate was sold by Southern Cypress, Agent at the 2015 August Yearling Sale to the winning connections for $35,000. Consigned by Grassroots Training & Sales to the 2016 April Sale, she was bought back for $50,000 after breezing an Under Tack eighth in :10 flat. The first six races of the ten-race card were for quarter horses. In the first race, Rocio Lopez’ Eyes Have a Fortune was the winner by a nose, running the 220 yards in a track record :21.727. Trained by his owner, the 6-year-old gelding was ridden by Ruben Serna.

Despite delaying the start by his reluctance to enter the starting gate, Howard Kleinberg and Kelly Kleinberg’s Mr So So Comment was a one length winner of the second race, running 330 yards in :17.207. The 6-year-old gelding, trained by Howard Kleinberg, was ridden by Natasha Fritz.

The third race went to Myron McKinnon’s Toast to Clever Two by three quarters of a length, with David Boraco aboard for trainer Walter Lee Graham, running the 330 yards in :17.204.

The combination of McKinnon and Graham made it two in a row in the fourth, with Dlj Royal Flow scoring by a head.  The 4-year-old horse, ridden by Reynier Arrieta, ran 330 yards in :17.041.

The same connections scored their third win in a row in the fifth, with One Way Flight running 220 yards in :12.19 and winning by a head. Reynier Arrieta was aboard the 4-year-old gelding.

Rocio Lopez picked up her second win of the day in the sixth race, as Hesa Trickie Lad won by a length and survived a claim of foul, running the 220 yards in :12.006. Ruben Serna rode the 9-year-old gelding.

The seventh race was a six furlong race for maiden thoroughbreds, and it went to Jack Treadway and Ken Westlye’s Tellbuffy, who caught front-running Silver Springs in the final furlong and scored by a 4-1/2 lengths. The 4-year-old Florida-bred daughter of Telling, trained by Ken Westlye and ridden by Odilon Martinez, ran the distance in 1:13.

Race eight, a six furlong thoroughbred starter allowance, was won by Michaelle Bordis’ Circle Away, who rallied to get up in deep stretch and win going away by a length and a quarter, running the distance in 1:11 4/5. The 4-year-old gelding by Circular Quay, trained by Robert W. Bordis, was ridden by Raymond Torres.

Flurry Racing Stables LLC’s Mr. Misundertood sat just off the pace in the $100,000 River City Stakes (G3) on Saturday at Churchill Downs, took over a furlong from home and eased away to a half length victory. It’s the eighth stakes win for the 4-year-old gelding by Archarcharch, trained by Brad Cox, now 21-12-2-1 with $772,354 in earnings. Diamond Racing Inc. and Jay and Joan Janssen’s Cafe Du Monde went straight from a Gulfstream maiden victory in September to Saturday’s $100,000 Louisiana Legacy Stakes at Delta Downs. He rallied to take over in the stretch and drew away late to score by two lengths. The 2-year-old colt by New Year’s Day is a two-time OBS graduate, sold by Select Sales at the 2018 Winter Mixed Sale before he was purchased for $50,000 out of the L. Ivery Sisters Racing’s Monte Man racked up his seventh straight stakes win on Saturday at Fair Grounds with a 2-3/4 length wire to wire victory in the $50,000 Heitai Overnight Stakes. The 5-year-old gelding by Custom for Carlos was purchased for $125,000 out of the Royal Thoroughbred International consignment at the 2015 OBS March Sale after working an Under Tack eighth in in :10 1/5. Five OBS graduates posted stakes victories at Gulfstream Park West on Saturday.

David Melin, Leon Ellman and Laurie Plesa’s Mr. Jordan captured the $75,000 Million Preview Stakes for the third straight year, saving ground in the early going before shifting outside in the stretch and closing to beat fellow OBS graduate Deland (August ’13) by a nose at the wire. It’s the seventh stakes win for the graded stakes winning 6-year-old Florida-bred gelding by Kantharos, trained by Eddie Plesa, now 34-10-7-7 with $827,335 in earnings. Scott’s Galleon Mast rallied on the hedge to reach contention turning for home in the $75,000 Millions Turf Preview on Saturday at Gulfstream Park West, came out for the drive and was up at the wire to score by a nose. It’s the fifth stakes victory for the 5-year-old Florida-bred Mizzen Mast gelding, now 29-9-10-5 for trainer David Fawkes with $539,050 in earnings. King of Prussia Stable’s Shanghai Starlet picked up her second stakes win in the $75,000 Millions Distaff Stakes, moving to the leader a quarter mile from home and easing away in the final furlong to win by a length and three quarters. The 3-year-old Florida-bred filly by Shanghai Bobby was purchased for $80,000 out of the Beth Bayer consignment at the 2016 OBS Selected Sale of Yearlings. A trio of OBS grads score in stakes at Laurel:

R. A. Hill Stable’s Majestic Dunhill trailed in the early going of Saturday’s $100,000 City of Laurel Stakes, but rallied on the outside down the stretch and was up in the final yards to win by half a length. It’s the second stakes win for the 3-year-old gelding by Majesticperfection, purchased for $100,000 out of the SGV Thoroughbreds consignment at the 2017 OBS March Sale after he sped a quarter in :21 3/5 at the Under Tack Show. Biggs’ Congrats Gal took charge of the $100,000 Smart Halo Stakes after turning for home, and the 2-year-old Florida-bred graded stakes placed daughter of Congrats bounded away down the stretch to win her first stakes race by 6-3/4 lengths.
