Like father, like daughter: Peter Brant’s Salinah (IRE), the first U.S. starter for OBS graduate El Kabeir, earned TDN Rising Star status for her five length debut win at Tampa Bay Downs. A multiple graded stakes winning son of Sat Daddy, El Kabeir earned Rising Star status for his debut at Saratoga at two and went on to win the Kentucky Jockey Club Stakes (G2) at two and the Gotham Stakes (G3) at three, retiring to stud with earnings of $946,557. He was a $250,000 purchase out of the Summerfield consignment at the 2013 OBS August Yearling Sale.

A total of 52 horses have been supplemented to the sale, highlighted by a pair of stakes placed newly turned 3-year-olds. Hip No. 334, Winging It, a colt by Into Mischief, was second in Gulfstream’s Proud Man Stakes. A half brother to two stakes winners, he’s out of Campionessa, by A.P. Indy. Hip No. 349, Fifth Anniversary, a daughter of Runhappy out of My Lady Lauren, by Hard Spun, was second in the Woodbine Cares Stakes.
Eight horses have been supplemented to the Preferred Session, for a total of 205 horses cataloged as Hip No.’s 1 – 205. The Session will begin Tuesday, January 25th at 11 a.m.
The addition of 33 supplements swells the Horses of Racing Age Session to a total of 112, cataloged as Hip No.’s 251 – 362, beginning immediately following the Preferred Session.
Eleven horses have been added to the Open Session, which gets underway Wednesday, January 26th at 11 a.m. with a total of 249 horses cataloged as Hip No.’s 401 – 649.

The Under Tack Show for the Horses of Racing Age Section is set for Monday, January 24th at 9:00 a.m. The Under Tack Show and Sale will be streamed live via the OBS website as well as the DRF, TDN, BloodHorse and PastTheWire websites.
There are 257 yearlings cataloged by a diverse group of proven and promising sires. Accelerate, Always Dreaming, Bucchero, Collected, Girvin, Goldencents, Good Magic, Good Samaritan, Gun Runner, Hard Spun, Khozan, Laoban, Maclean’s Music, Mendelssohn,Mo Town, Outwork, Practical Joke,Tapwrit,The Factor, and Unified are represented.
First crop sires with yearling include Audible, Breaking Lucky, Catalina Cruiser, Catholic Boy, Mitole, Omaha Beach, Solomini, St Patrick’s Day, Vino Rosso, World of Trouble and Yoshida (JPN).
The sale also features mares in foal to an outstanding roster of new sires: Complexity, Echo Town, Gift Box, Global Campaign, Instagrand, Mr. Money, Spun to Run, Thousand Words, Vekoma,War of Will, and Win Win Win.
OBS will again offer Online Bidding during the Winter Mixed Sale. Buyers will be able to go to the OBS website and register to gain bidding approval, then access the OBS Bidding Screen with their credentials.
