Michael E. Pegram, Karl Watson, and Paul Weitman’s Havnameltdown is two for two and a graded stakes winner after setting the pace in Sunday’s $202,500 Best Pal Stakes (G3), turning back a bid from fellow OBS graduate Agency (March ’22) after turning for home and beating him to the wire by 2-1/2 lengths. After winning his first two starts for trainer Bob Baffert, he has earned $168,000 to date. Omar Aldabbagh, Todd Cady and Ty Leatherman’s unbeaten Vegas Magic, ignored at 14-1 in the $200,500 Sorrento Stakes (G2) on Saturday, saved ground early, came out for the drive, caught the leaders a sixteenth out and was best by a length and a quarter. It’s the second straight stakes win for the 2-year-old daughter of Good Magic, purchased for $100,000 out of the Wavertree Stables consignment at the 2022 OBS March Sale after turning in an Under Tack eighth in :10 2/5. Monarch Stables Inc.’s Last Leaf scored her third straight stakes win in the $100,000 Audubon Oaks at Ellis Park on Sunday. The 3-year-old graded stakes placed daughter of Not This Time came around horses to reach contention turning for home then eased away in the stretch to win by a length and three quarters. Trained by Ron Spatz, she has compiled five stakes wins, a 15-7-1-2 career record and earned $332,647. Paradise Farms Corp., David Staudacher, Three Diamonds Farm and Mike Maker’s Top Recruit was on the pace from the start of Sunday’s $124,250 Ellis Park Juvenile Stakes, battled to the wire and was best by a head. Fellow OBS graduate Roman Giant (March ’22) checked in third. Patricia’s Hope LLC’s Back to Ohio ran past pacesetting fellow OBS graduate Lady Lottie (January ’21) at the head of the stretch of Saturday’s $100,000 Best of Ohio Stakes at Thistledown and beat her to the wire by 5-1/2 lengths. Colts Neck Stables LLC’s Nothing Better pressed the pace in Sunday’s $102,000 Rainbow Heir Stakes at Monmouth Park, took the lead turning for home and eased away late to score by two lengths. LRE Racing LLC and JEH Racing LLC’s Casa Creed, last of five turning for home in Saratoga’s $500,000 Fourstardave Handicap (G1), rallied on the outside down the stretch, blew past the leaders in deep stretch won going away by a length and a half. It’s the third grade one victory for the 6-year-old son of Jimmy Creed, purchased for $15,000 out of the Janie Roper consignment at the 2017 OBS Winter Mixed Sale, Trained by Bill Mott, he has compiled a 27-7-4-4career record and earned $1,703,308.

Winchell Thoroughbreds LLC and Willis Horton Racing LLC’s Bankit, on furlough since a trip to Dubai in March, returned to action on Friday in Saratoga’s $125,000 Evan Shipman Handicap. Off the pace in the early going, he got into contention on the outside turning for home and was best by a nose after a battle to the wire. Fellow OBS graduate Brooklyn Strong (April ’20, October ’19) settled for third. That’s six stakes wins for the graded stakes placed 6-year-old son of Central Banker, trained by Steve Asmussen, now 34-7-10-5 with $1,149,655 in earnings. Elizabeth L. Dobles and Imaginary Stables’ Pudding rated off the pace in Saturday’s $65,000 Benny the Bull Stakes at Gulfstream, came around horses into the stretch, took the lead a sixteenth from home, and was best by a length at the wire. It’s the second stakes score for the graded stakes placed 7-year-old Florida-bred gelding by Two Step Salsa, trained by Elizabeth L. Dobles, now 36-10-8-9 with $388,360 in earnings. The two-time OBS graduate went through the ring at the 2016 Winer Mixed Sale and then was sold for $10,000 by Beth Bayer, Agent, at the 2016 August Yearling Sale. Trained by Elizabeth L. Dobles, he’s now 33-9-7-8 and earned $323,840.

Holy Cow Stable, LLC’s Naughty Gal, living up to her name, was a 2-1/2 length winner of Saratoga’s $194,000 Adirondack Stakes (G3) after leading from the start, drifting out badly after turning for home, but maintaining her lead far from the rail down the stretch. Fellow OBS graduate Janis Joplin (April ’22), still a maiden, was a game second. It’s the first stakes win for the 2-year-old filly by Into Mischief, now 3-2-0-0 with $148,735 in earnings for trainer D. Wayne Lukas. George Krikorian’s War Like Goddess defended her title in the $250,000 Glens Falls Stakes (G2) at Saratoga on Saturday, rated kindly just off the leaders in the early going, sweeping to the lead on the outside after straightening away in the stretch, and drawing off with ease to score by a length and a quarter. Gaining Ground Racing LLC’s Price Talk stalked the leader in the $75,000 West Virginia House of Delegates Speaker’s Cup Stakes, took charge at the head of the stretch and cruised from there to a 5-1/4 length victory. It’s the first stakes win for the 5-year-old gelding by Kitten’s Joy, trained by Brad Cox, now 14-5-2-3 with earnings of $270,884. He was sold for $70,000 by Stuart Morris, Agent, at the 2018 OBS October Yearling Sale.

CSLR Ranch Partners’ Awesome Strong is two for two and a stakes winner after bouncing right to the front in the $100,000 FTBOA Florida Sire Dr. Fager Stakes at Gulfstream and never looking back en route to a 4-3/4 length victory. The 2-year-old Florida-bred colt by Awesome Slew, trained by Jorge Delgado, has earned $98,000 to date after being purchased for $30,000 out of the Sue Vacek consignment at the 2021 OBS October Selected Yearling Sale

MAT Investments, LLC’s City Park swept around horses to the lead in the $67,000 Louisiana Cup Turf Classic Stakes at Louisiana Downs, then drew away in deep stretch to score by a length and three quarters. It’s the first stakes win for the 5-year-old son of Temple City, who went through the ring, consigned by Pelican State Thoroughbreds, at the 2018 OBS Winter Mixed Sale. Trained by Eduardo Ramirez, he has compiled a 31-6-2-8 career record and earned $210,484.

Hronis Racing LLC’s Heywoods Beach stalked the leader from the start of Del Mar’s $125,500 Cougar II Stakes (G3),  took over at the head of the stretch and went on to win by a length. It’s the first stakes victory for the 5-year-old son of Speightstown, trained by John Sadler, now 18-4-2-3 with earnings of $289,251.
