Mark Davis’ Raging Torrent (Maximus Mischief – Violent Wave) set the pace in Del Mar’s $250,000 Pat O’Brien Stakes (G2) on Saturday, was headed by odds-on favorite The Chosen Vron on the turn but battled back down the stretch and proved best by a neck at the wire. R and H Stable’s Mo Plex (Complexity – Mo Joy) is three for three with two stakes wins after leading a 1-2-3 OBS sweep of the $200,000 Funny Cide Stakes on Sunday at Saratoga. After a stumbling start, he raced wide down the backstretch, came four wide into the lane and got up at the wire to beat fellow OBS graduate Soontobeking (King for a Day – Swayed) by a nose. The Toner (Maclean’s Music – Ultimate Shopper) closed well to complete the OBS trifecta. A winner of Saratoga’s Sanford Stakes (G3) in his previous start, the 3-year-old colt by Complexity, trained by Jeremiah C. Englehart, has earned $247,500 to date. Hill Stable and SGV Thoroughbreds’ Outlaw Kid (Violence – Calling Rhy Rhy) successfully defended his title win Woodbine’s $150,000 Vice Regent Stakes on Sunday, coming from off the pace, taking the lead a sixteenth from home and scoring in hand by 2-1/4 lengths. That’s two stakes wins for the 5-year-old gelding by Violence, trained by George Weaver, who has compiled a 16-6-4-1 record and earned $498,234. A pair of OBS grads posted stakes wins on Saturday at Parx Racing.

R. Lee Lewis’ Gun Song (Gun Runner – Nicole H) was a wire to wire winner of the $200,000 Cathryn Sophia Stakes, drawing off late to win by 2-1/2 lengths. It’s the second stakes win for the graded stakes winning 3-year-old daughter of Gun Runner, trained by Mark Hennig, now 9-4-2-1 with $485,440 in earnings. Happy Tenth Stable’s Buccherino (Bucchero – Bellimbusto) took the early lead in the $75,000 Salvatore M. DeBunda Memorial Stakes, turned back a challenge on the turn and drew away from there to score by 6-1/2 lengths. Will Stroud’s Long Neck Paula (Uncle Mo – Take Charge Paula) tracked the pace in Saturday’s $100,000 Prairie Meadows Debutante Stakes, took over on the turn and romped home by 7-1/2 lengths for her first stakes victory. Third in Saratoga’s Schuylerville Stakes in her previous start, the 2-year-old daughter of Uncle Mo, trained by Wesley Ward, is now 3-2-0-1 and has earned $149,700. C., Ltd.’s Avana (Vino Rosso – Revealing Moment) posted her fifth straight win on Saturday in the $98,000 Century Casino Stakes at Century Mile, overcoming a slow break, blowing past fellow OBS graduate Midnight Lady (Midnight Lute – Steal the Dance) turning for home and beating her by 4-3/4 lengths. Trainer Saffie A. Joseph, Jr. brought two OBS graduates to Charles Town on Friday night and came away with a pair of graded stakes wins.

Daniel Alonso’s Skippylongstocking (Exaggerator – Twinkling) defended his title in the $1,000,000 Charles Town Classic Stakes (G2), going straight to the lead and never looking back en route to a 5-3/4 length victory. That’s seven graded stakes victories for the 4-year-old son of Exaggerator, purchased for $37,000 out of the Top Line Sales consignment at the 2021 OBS Spring Sale after breezing an eighth in :10 2/5. C2 Racing Stable LLC and Stefania Farms, LLC’s Mystic Lake (Mo Town – Salty Soul) romped to an easy victory in the $750,000 Charles Town Oaks (G2), pressing the pace, taking charge turning for home and drawing off with ease to score by 5-3/4 lengths. Hirsch Stakes (G1) at Del Mar on Saturday.  In traffic a quarter mile out, she turned it on once clear and drew off to a 2-1/2 length victory. Colts Neck Stables LLC’s Nothing Better (Munnings – One True Love (IRE) tracked the leaders from just off the pace in Monmouth’s $103,000 Wolf Hill Stakes on Saturday, turned in a strong run in the final furlong and was best by three quarters at the wire, with fellow OBS graduate Arzak (Not This Time – Delightful Melody) closing for third. It’s the second straight stakes victory and fifth stakes win for the 7-year-old son of Munnings, trained by Jorge Duarte, now 28-11-5-3 with earnings of $761,382. Trained by Mark Casse, the 2-year-old Florida-bred son of Complexity has won two of three starts and earned $102,007. Klaravich Stables, Inc.’s Unmatched Wisdom (Cairo Prince – Glide On By) went to the front and never looked back en route to victory by a length in Saratoga’s $135,000 Curlin Stakes on Friday. It was the stakes debut for the 3-year-old son of Cairo Prince, consigned to the 2023 OBS March Sale by White Lilac (Katie Miranda), Agent, and sold for $450,000 after breezing an Under Tack eighth in :10 flat. R and H Stable’s Mo Plex (Complexity – Mo Joy) is two for two and a graded stakes winner after a front-running one length victory in Saturday’s $175,000 Sanford Stakes(G3) at Saratoga, with fellow OBS graduate Three Echoes (Echo Town – Bayou Miss) finishing third.  A ten length winner in his debut at Aqueduct in June, he has earned $137,500 to date for trainer Jeremiah C. Power Squeeze prevails in G3 Delaware Oaks

Lea Farms, LLC’s Power Squeeze (Union Rags – Callmethesqueeze) relaxed off the pace in Monday’s $300,000 Delaware Oaks (G3), moved three-wide on the turn to reach contention turning for home, put her head in front a sixteenth out, fought head to head to the wire and prevailed by a nose. It’s the second graded stakes win for the 3-year-old filly by Union Rags, winner of the Gulfstream Park Oaks (G2) in March. She’s trained by Jorge Delgado, posted a 9-5-1-1 record and earned $567,450 to date.
