Trained by Steve Asmussen, the son of Yaupon had made his first eight starts on dirt.

“I think the break made the biggest difference today,” Scott Blasi, assistant to Asmussen, told NYRA publicity. “I think he likes to run a little closer like that. (Jockey) Jose (Ortiz) said when he jumped out of there like that, it gave him some confidence and then he was able to put him on the bridle. He finished up strong.”

Stradale was a $1.3 million purchase by his owner at the 2025 OBS April Sale from the de Meric Sales consignment after breezing in :9 4/5.

At Gulfstream Park Aug. 10, K Johnston Racing, Michael and Jules Iavarone and Hopeless Stables’ Sum of Success (Win Win Win- All Summed Up, by In Summation) put away longshot stalker It’s Smoking leaving the far turn and opened up through the stretch to 11 ½-length victory in the $100,000 FHBPA In Summation Stakes.

Trained by Bobby Dibona, Sum of Success is a grandson of In Summation bred by Liz and Norman Wilson’s Oakleaf Farm in Ocala, Fla. He was purchased by Dibona for $165,000 at the 2026 OBS April Sale from the Wavertree Stables (Ciaran Dunne) consignment after breezing in :10 flat.

At Chukyo Racecourse in Japan Aug. 9, Susumu Fujita’s From Dusk (Bolt d’Oro-Foolish Cause, by Giant’s Causeway) captured the CBC Sho (G3) for trainer Hideyuki Mori. The son of Bolt d’Oro was purchased by Mori at the 2022 OBS March Sale for $900,000 out of the Top Line Sales consignment after breezing in :9 4/5.
