JAL Racing’ s Doncho (Mo Town – Sassy Redhead, by Henny Hughes) lived up to his name when he captured the $100,000 William Garrett Handicap at Horseshoe Indianapolis July 10 to lead the slate of stakes-winning OBS graduates for the week

Trained by Michelle Lovell, the gelding has now won two stakes races in a row.
“He is such a classy horse and loves to race,” winning jockey Jaime Torres told the Horseshoe publicity team.
Named after a traditional Bulgarian and Macedonian masculine name for priceless or invaluable, Doncho was consigned by GOP Racing Stable Corp. to the 2023 OBS June Sale where he was purchased by his owners for $72,000 after breezing in :9 4/5.
At Prairie Meadows July 10, Paradise City (McKinzie-Washington Bridge, by Yankee Gentleman) captured $100,000 Saylorville Stakes by 1 1/2 lengths to earn her first stakes victory. Trained by Saffie Joseph, Jr., Paradise City was purchased by Joseph for $105,000 at the 2024 OBS June Sale from the de Meric Sales consignment after breezing in :10 flat.
At Gulfstream Park July 11, Blu Boy Racing and Matty Dan Racing’s 5-year-old mare Vincey Girl (Race Day-Gracious, by Elusive Quality), racing over a new surface for the first time in her 18th start, swept past the field leaving the far turn and held on for a half-length victory in the $100,000 Powder Break Stakes.
Trained by trainer Jose D’Angelo, Vincey Girl was supposed to be making her turf debut, but she wound up on the all-weather Tapeta course for the first time when the race was moved off the grass following heavy overnight rain. She was purchased by Pro Racing Stable for $40,000 from the On the Run Sales consignment at the 2023 OBS June Sale after breezing in : 21.
At Horseshoe Indianapolis July 11, Brad Grady and David Grund’s Seminole Chief (Girvin – Secret Song, by Dunkirk) edged away late to prevail by three-quarters of a length in the $102,500 Jonathan B. Schuster Memorial.
Trained by Joe Sharp, Seminole Chief was consigned by Bobby Dodd to the 2023 OBS June Sale and sold to HND Bloodstock for $80,000 after breezing in :10 1/5.
At Monmouth Park July 11, Tristar Farm’s Rebel With a Cause (Leinster-Glenwood Pines, by Mizzen Mast) was able to take advantage of an opening along the rail in mid-stretch and powered to a 1 1/4-length victory in the My Frenchman Stakes, giving his trainer Lauren Robson her first stakes win.
Rebel With a Cause improved to 3-for-5 lifetime. He is a dual OBS graduate, having been purchased by Gayle Woods for $10,000 at the 2024 OBS Winter Mixed Sale from the Bobby Jones Equine consignment before being offered by Golden Woods Thoroughbreds at the 2025 OBS March Sale, where he breezed in in :10 2/5.
At Prairie Meadows July 11, William and Corinne Heiligbrodt, Jackpot Farm, and Whispering Oaks Farm’s Booth (Mitole – Sophia’s Song, by Bellamy Road) added to his multiple stakes-winning resume when he annexed the $100,000 Iowa Sprint Stakes by 2 1/4 lengths. Trained by Steve Asmussen, the 5-year-old horse pushed past $1 million in career earnings.
Booth was purchased for $225,000 by the Heiligbrodts and Jackpot Farm at the 2023 OBS March Sale from the consignment of Wavertree Stables after breezing in :10 flat.
