The Ocala Breeders’ Sales Co. pavilion has routinely been the site of consignor Omar Ramirez’s best work, particularly when it comes to the June Two-Year-Olds in Training and Horses of Racing Age Sale.
Fresh off an April sale that saw his burgeoning consignment produce yet another milestone moment, Ramirez is once again heading into the final major juvenile auction of the season aiming to keep his bar of success at a lofty echelon.

When the 2026 OBS Spring Sale of Two-Year-Olds in Training concluded, Ramirez had ample reason to celebrate as he sold the highest priced horse of his career thus far, consigning a bay colt by Speaker’s Corner for $875,000. With the OBS June Sale kicking off the first day of five under-tack shows on June 9, the Ramirez shedrow was again a buoyant place to visit after Hip 59, a dark bay or brown filly by Central Banker worked an eighth in :9 4/5, one of four horses to post the fastest time at the distance on the day.
Bred in New York by Dr. Jerry Bilinski, the filly is out of the winning, stakes-placed Champs Elysees (GB) mare Amabilis (GB) and has some active Grade 1 winners bolstering her page. The filly is from the female family of Grade 1 winners Segesta and Salamis with the former finishing in a dead-heat for the victory in the Jenny Wiley Stakes (G1) at Keeneland in April and the latter closing out his 2025 season with a win in the Hollywood Derby (G1).
“I was pretty confident she would go in :9 4/5 because she’s been really nice on the farm and has prepped really well here,” Ramirez said of the filly. “She did everything right. She’s a good filly, she’s tries really hard. She was not really that big when we got her, so we decided to give her plenty of time to get the sale. I’m excited.”
Ramirez, who has been consigning for five years, is well acquainted with the task of selling top horses in June. He topped the 2022 edition of the auction when he sold an Uncle Mo filly for $725,000 to Donato Lanni. Last year, sent out a son of Beau Liam who equaled the OBS track record when he breezed a quarter in :20 1/5 – a colt that is now better known as graded stakes winner Crude Velocity.
“This sale has always been good to me. And this has been a dream year for me,” Ramirez said. “My clients gave me great horses; they trust me and gave me the opportunity. Even when we started breaking (babies at the start of the year) I was like I think we’re going to have a really good year because the horses were moving so pretty on the farm. I have great partners, great owners. April was a dream sale. This is my home here.”
