Two Tie for Fastest Quarter During Day Two of OBS June Under Tack Show

For Immediate Release

With the rain staying away and the sun beaming through the clouds, the second day of the Under Tack show for the 2025 OBS June Two-Year-Olds and Horses of Racing Age Sale took place June 11. And once the session wrapped, it was the fillies from the consignment of Omar Ramirez who were among those who shone the brightest.

Hip 229, a dark bay or brown filly by Cloud Computing consigned by Omar Ramirez Bloodstock, was one of two juveniles to breeze a quarter in :20 4/5 on Wednesday, tying for the fastest time at the distance. Joining her for the bullet honors was Hip 252, a gray or roan filly by Caravaggio consigned by Blue Sapphire Stables, who had another top day after sending out Hip 45, I’m Here for Grace, a bay filly by Combatant who worked a quarter mile in :20 4/5 on Tuesday.

The Cloud Computing filly had Ramirez feeling quietly confident in the weeks heading into the June auction. The filly is out of the stakes winning Indian Charlie mare Clever Beauty, who is from the female family of Grade 1 winner Rutherienne and had been prepping as well any of his entrants according to the consignor.

“She’s out of an Indian Charlie mare and she has all the class,” Ramirez said. “She’s beautiful, well balanced. We decided to point her to June and get her ready to go a quarter and she did not disappoint me. We always knew she was nice. She’s just been a sound, happy filly.”

In addition to watching the Cloud Computing filly turn heads during her turn on the track, Ramirez also sent out Hip 313, a bay filly by Midshipman who worked in :21 flat. The filly is out of the Orb mare Final Adventure, who is a half-sister to Grade 1 winner Marylebone.

“Both of them did really well and both of them prepped well at the farm,” Ramirez said.  “We had another Munnings filly (Hip 336) too that I loved that went in :10 flat and those to two fillies prepped similar to her.”

It was another headline day as well for the Blue Sapphire team as the Caravaggio filly became their latest standout. The filly is out of the winning Curlin mare Curl the Pearl, a half-sister to OBS grad and graded stakes winner Chitu and graded stakes winner Beautiful Gift.
