The catalog for the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company’s 2024 October Yearling Sale is now available via the OBS website at obssales.com. The two-day sale is set for Tuesday and Wednesday, October 8th and 9th. Supplemental entries will be accepted until September 21st.
There are 535 horses cataloged in two Open sessions. The sale begins on Tuesday, October 8th with Hip No.’s 1– 266 plus supplements offered for sale. Hip No.’s 301 – 569 plus supplements will be sold on Wednesday, October 9th. Both sessions will begin at 11:30 a.m.
Supplements will be sold at the conclusion each session cataloged in order of the starting letter of the dam’s name. Names beginning with Y through L will be added to the end of the first session; names beginning with M through X will be added to the conclusion of second session.
The sale will be streamed live via the OBS website as well as the DRF, TDN, BloodHorse and Pastthewire websites.
OBS again offers Online Bidding during the October Sale. Buyers will be able to go to the OBS website and register to gain bidding approval, then access the OBS Bidding Screen with their credentials. Amerman Racing LLC’s Trikari (Oscar Performance – Dynamic Holiday) is the cover boy, going over the million-dollar mark in earnings with victories in the American Turf Stakes (G2), Secretariat Stakes (G2) and Belmont Derby Invitational Stakes (G1). The 3-year-old colt by Oscar Performance was consigned by Ordonez Thoroughbreds, Agent, to the 2022 October Sale and purchased by Amerman Racing for $27,500. He’s trained by Graham Motion, has compiled an 8-5-1-1 record to date and earned $1,303,530. A two-time graded stakes winner, he’s trained by Bob Baffert and returns with a 7-4-1-0 record and $498,000 in earnings. The 4-year-old son of Bayern is a two-time OBS graduate. Resolute Racing’s Mensa (Complexity – Lady Halite) earned a back cover slot with a runaway 7-1/4 length victory in Woodbine’s Victoria Stakes in July. Trained by Mark Casse, the 2-year-old Florida-bred son of Complexity scored in two of four trips to the post and has earned $104,207. Purchased for $135,000 from Beth Bayer Agent, at the 2023 October Sale, he’s currently training at Woodbine for his next engagement. October Sale walking video
C2 Racing Stable LLC and Stefania Farms, LLC’s back cover girl Mystic Lake (Mo Town – Salty Soul) is a two-time OBS graduate and a two-time graded stakes winner. Winner of the Miss Preakness Stakes (G3) in May, the 3-year-old Florida-bred filly by Mo Town posted a 5-3/4 length score in the Charles Town Oaks (G2) on August 23rd. Now 11-5-3-1 for Saffie Joseph. Jr., she has earned $758,554 thus far. Soldi Stable LLC’s Gabaldon (Gone Astray – Valuable Miss) won the Royal Palm Juvenile Stakes at Gulfstream Park in his debut and with it a trip to Royal Ascot. At Ascot, the 2-year-old Florida-bred son of Gone Astray gave a good account of himself in the Windsor Castle Stakes, finishing second by a length. First and second in his only trips to the post, trained by Jose D’Angelo, he has earned $87,555 after his purchase by Soldi Stables LLC for $9,000 out of the Get Away Farm consignment at the 2023 October Sale.
