CSLR Ranch Partners’ unbeaten Awesome Strong stalked the early leaders in Saturday’s $200,000 FTBOA Florida Sire Affirmed Stakes at Gulfstream, took over on the turn and cruised home from there to a convincing three length victory. Fellow OBS graduate Apocalypso (March ’22) settled for third. It’s the second straight FTBOA Sire Stakes win for the 2-year-old Florida-bred colt by Awesome Slew, purchased for $30,000 out of the Sue Vacek consignment at the 2021 OBS October Selected Yearling Sale. Now three for three for trainer Jorge Delgado, he has earned $218,000 to date.
Winning Stables, Inc.’s Feast stepped into stakes company for the first time in the $100,000 Rumson Stakes at Monmouth Park, took the lead at the start, surrendered it a furlong out then came again late to score by half a length. It’s the third straight win for the 5-year-old Florida-bred son of Twirling Candy, trained by Gerald S. Bennett, now 16-6-1-2 with $234,259 in earnings. Nasca’s Eoma Eoma came from off the pace to capture the $734,299 Korea Sprint Stakes (G3) at Seoul on Sunday, getting up in the final yards to score by half a length. It’s the first stakes win for the 5-year-old horse by Algorithms, trained by Song Moon Gil, now 18-12-2-2, with earnings in excess of $1.5-million.
