OBS Spring Sale graduates scored recent graded wins in California and Australia.
Hronis Racing LLC’s Edgeway pressed the pace for a quarter in Sunday’s $100,000 Las Flores Stakes (G3) at Santa Anita, took command on the turn and drew away with ease down the stretch to victory by seven lengths. It’s the second graded stakes win for the lightly raced 5-year-old daughter of Competitive Edge, now 11-7-2-1 with $656,360 in earnings for trainer John Sadler. After breezing an Under Tack eighth in :10 flat, she was purchased for $275,000 out of the Mayberry Farm consignment at the 2019 OBS April Sale. watch her under tack video
LNJ Foxwoods’ Lighthouse was rated just off the pace in the early going of the $600,000 ATC Coolmore Cup (G1) on Saturday at Australia’s Rosehill Gardens, rallied to take the lead coming to the 200m mark and drew away late to score by two lengths. It’s the first graded stakes victory for the 6-year-old daughter of Mizzen Mast, trained by Ciaron Maher & David Eust, now 17-8-5-1 with six stakes wins and $973,383 in earnings.
