Kevin Marko, Last Call Racing Partnership, Union Park Thoroughbreds, LLC and Cherrywood Racing Stables II’s Summer Assault sat just off the pace in the $100,000 Mystic Lake Derby, came between horses to go after the leaders in the lane and scored by a length over fellow OBS graduate Angelus Warrior, who got up late for second. It’s the first stakes victory for the 3-year-old gelding by Summer Front, trained by Michele Boyce, now 6-3-1-1 with $96,900 in earnings. WSS Racing LLC and Hooties Racing LLC’s Ask Bailey scored her first stakes win in the $50,000 Northbound Pride Oaks, trailing early, circling horses on the turn to reach contention, taking charge a furlong from home and drawing away to a 4-1/4 length victory. The graded stakes placed 3-year-old daughter of Run Away and Hide was purchased for $80,000 out of the Randy Miles consignment at the 2019 Spring Sale after breezing an eighth in :10 2/5 at the Under Tack Show. Carolyn Wilson’s Wellabled took the lead at the start of the $50,000 Honor the Hero Stakes and never looked back, turning back a challenge in the lane and scoring by half a length in a course record :54.77 for five furlongs on turf. It’s the fourth stakes win for the 6-year-old son of Shackleford, trained by Larry Rivelli, now 15-8-2-1 with earnings of $334,572. Consigned by Wavertree Stables, Inc.
