It’s the second graded stakes win for the 4-year-old gelding by Stormy Atlantic, consigned by Eddie Woods, Agent, to the 2018 OBS April Sale, where he was sold for $130,000 after breezing an Under Tack quarter in :21 1/5. Team Hanley’s Captain Bombastic rated nicely while saving ground in Sunday’s $100,000 Mike Lee Stakes at Belmont, came out for the drive, reached the lead with a sixteenth to run and eased away late to win by a length and a quarter. Brehm’s My Girl Red won at first asking on Sunday in a $65,000, 4-1/2 furlong maiden special test at Santa Anita, dueling for the early lead, taking command after turning for home and striding away down the stretch to a 4-1/4 length victory. The 2-year-old filly, trained by Keith Desormeaux, the first winner for sire Texas Red, earned $30,000 for the win.
