Allied Racing Stable, LLC’s By My Standards is the newest OBS millionaire after chasing front running Warrior’s Charge to the top of the stretch in the $600,000 Oaklawn Handicap (G2) on Saturday at Oaklawn Park, collaring him coming to the eighth pole and easing away late to beat him by a length and three quarters. That’s three straight wins and the third graded stakes victory for the 4-year old colt by OBS graduate Goldencents, consigned to the 2018 OBS April Sale by Scanlon Training & Sales, Agent, where he was sold to J. Stevens Bloodstock, Agent, for $150,000 after working an eighth in :10 3/5 at the Under Tack Show. Trained by Bret Calhoun, he has compiled a 9-4-2-1 career record and has earned $1,281,910.  watch a video of the race   watch his under tack video

Earlier at Oaklawn on Saturday, Phoenix Thoroughbred III, Ltd.’s Scolding made a dazzling debut in a $60,000, six furlong maiden special weight test, battling head and head for the early lead, taking charge turning for home and drawing away down the stretch, scoring by six lengths under wraps at the wire. The 3-year-old daughter of OBS graduate Carpe Diem, trained by Steve Asmussen, earned $36,000 for the effort. Consigned to the 2019 OBS April Sale by Wavertree Stables, Inc. (Ciaran Dunne), Agent, she sped an Under Tack quarter in :20 3/5 and was purchased by Phoenix for $475,000.  watch her under tack video

Klaravich Stables, Inc.’s Network Effect pressed the pace from the inside in the early going of Saturday’s $100,000 Big Drama Stakes at Gulfstream, moved to take command inside the final furlong and drew away late to score by two lengths. Fellow OBS graduate Last Judgement (April ‘18) came running late to finish third. It’s the first stakes win for the graded stakes placed 4-year-old Florida-bred colt by Mark Valeski, who turned in an Under Tack quarter in :20 4/5 before he was purchased for $95,000 out of the Blue River Bloodstock consignment at the 2018 OBS April Sale. Now 7-3-3-0 for trainer Chad Brown, he has earned $252,910 to date. watch his under tack video

On Friday at Oaklawn, Wolfe Racing LLC and Hugh H. Robertson’s Piece of My Heart stepped into stakes company for the first time in the $80,000 Gardenia Stakes, went right to the lead, turned back a wall of challengers after turning for home and cruised to victory by a length and a half. That’s two straight wins for the 3-year-old Florida-bred filly by Flat Out, trained by McLean Robertson, now 8-3-1-2 with earnings of $135,750. She was sold for $35,000 by Bobby Jones Equine LLC, Agent, at the 2018 OBS Winter Mixed Sale.
