Ironhorse Racing Stable LLC’s Bucchero successfully defended his title in the $200,000 Woodford Stakes (G2) at Keeneland on Saturday, wearing down the leaders on the outside down the stretch proving best by half a length. It’s the seventh stakes score for the 6-year-old son of Kantharos, purchased for $43,000 out of the Southern Chase Farm (Greg & Karen Dodd) consignment at the 2014 OBS June Sale, after speeding a quarter in :21 flat at the Under Tack Show.
