The bay filly, whose quarter in :20 4/5 was the fastest at the distance at Saturday’s Under Tack session, is out of Dreamingly, by Giant’s Causeway, a half sister to stakes placed Skyfall.
Linda Rice, Agent, went to $220,000 for Hip No. 634, a bay colt by Flat Out consigned by Bobby Dodd, Agent. Out of Dress Parade, by Victory Gallop, a daughter of graded stakes winner Added Asset, he turned in an Under Tack eighth in :10 flat on Saturday.
Hip No. 410, a son of Stay Thirsty consigned by Stephens Thoroughbreds LLC, Agent, was sold to Steven W. Young, Agent for $190,000. The gray or roan colt, who breezed an eighth in :10 1/5 at Friday’s Under Tack session, is out of Sweetest Song, by Unbridled’s Song, from the family of graded stakes winner Ifyoucouldseemenow.
Hip No. 744, a bay filly by Soldat consigned by Eddie Woods, Agent was purchased by Bradley Thoroughbreds LLC, Agent, for $175,000. Out of graded stakes winner Storm Mesa, by Sky Mesa, she breezed an eighth in :10 flat on Saturday.
Hip No. 731, a son of Tapit consigned by de Meric Sales, Agent, went to Tim Kegel, Agent, for $170,000. The chestnut colt, who worked an eighth in :10 2/5 on Saturday, is a full brother to grade one stakes winner Pretty City Dancer out of Pretty City, by Carson City.
Hip No. 766, a son of Speightstown consigned by RiceHorse Stable (Brandon & Ali Rice), went to K.O.I.D. Co., Ltd. for $150,000. The chestnut colt, who breezed an eighth in :10 flat on Saturday, is out of graded stakes placed Exit to Heaven, by Holy Bull.
Rialto Racing Stables went to $145,000 for Hip No. 460, a chestnut colt by Flatter who worked an eighth in :10 1/5 on Friday. Consigned by consigned by Paul Sharp, Agent, he’s out of Up in Lights, by Smart Strike, a half sister to graded stakes placed stakes winner Lady of the Future.
Hip No. 465, a son of Quality Road consigned by Randy Miles, Agent, went to Kirkwood, Agent for David Berman for $130,000. The dark bay or brown colt, who breezed an eighth in :10 flat on Friday, is out of Villanella, by War Chant, from the family of grade one winner Passion for Gold and a half sister to stakes placed Alcomatch.
Hip No. 582, a gray or roan colt by Tapit consigned by Hoby & Layna Kight, was purchased for $130,000 by K.O.I.D. Co., Ltd. The half brother to grade one stakes winner Cuvee, who breezed an eighth in :10 1/5 on Saturday, is out of Christmas Star, by Star de Naskra.
Dennis O’Neill paid $130,000 for Hip No. 657, a chestnut filly by Line of David consigned by Shadybrook Farm, Inc. The half sister to stakes winner Temple Fur, out of Fashion Fur, by Mr. Greeley, worked an eighth in :10 flat on Saturday.
Kirkwood, Agent for David Berman, went to $120,000 for Hip No. 528, a chestnut colt by Tapit who turned in an Under Tack quarter in :21 3/5 on Friday. Consigned by Harris Training Center LLC, Agent, he’s out of Avid, by More Than Ready, a half sister to graded stakes winner Star Dabbler.
Hip No. 760, a daughter of Super Saver consigned by Woodford Thoroughbreds, Agent, was sold to Larry C Brookshire for $120,000. The bay filly, who breezed an eighth in 10: flat on Saturday, is out of Circumspect, by Discreet Cat, a half sister to grade one stakes winner Monba.
For the session, 207 youngsters sold for a total of $7,646,400, compared with 156 two-year-olds grossing $4,699,900 at the corresponding session last year. The average price was $36,939, compared with $30,128 a year ago while the median price was $20,000 compared with $15,000 in 2016. The buyback percentage was 21.6%; it was 22.8% in 2016.
For the entire sale, 424 two-year-olds sold for $15,216,900 compared with 619 bringing a total of $17,930,900 last year in four sessions. The average was $35,889 up 23.9% from $28,968 in 2016, while the median price was $19,000 up 40.7% compared with $13,500 a year ago. The buyback percentage was 18.8%; it was 24.3% a year ago.
The overall sale topper was Hip No. 199, a dark bay or brown colt by First Dude whose quarter in :20 3/5 was co-fastest at the distance at Wednesday’s Under Tack Session, sold to David Dizney Racing Syndicate for $400,000. Consigned by Top Line Sales LLC, Agent, he’s a half brother to stakes placed Sola Gratia out of Natalie’s Moment, by Kris S.
