Fellow OBS graduate Untrapped (March ’16) rallied to finish third. It was the stakes debut for the 3-year-old colt by Shackleford, trained by Todd Pletcher, who shipped in for the Rebel after winning his first two starts at Gulfstream by a combined 22 lengths. Veb Racing Stable Corp.’s Distinta circled horses on the turn to reach contention in the $200,000 Inside Information Stakes (G2) at Gulfstream, then wore down the leaders on the outside down the stretch and was up late to win by half a length. Fellow OBS graduate Dearest (March ’15) settled for third. It’s the first stakes win for the 5-year-old mare by Summer Bird, now 22-4-7-3 with $299,715 in earnings. Cheyenne Stables LLC’s Clothes Fall Off successfully defended her title in Aqueduct’s $125,000 Correction Stakes on Saturday, relaxing off the pace in the early going before circling horses, running past the leaders a sixteenth from home and drawing off to win by 4-1/4 lengths. It’s the second stakes win for the 5-year-old graded stakes placed filly by Daaher, consigned by Hartley/De Renzo Thoroughbreds LLC to the 2014 OBS March Sale and sold to Cheyenne Stables for $150,000 after an Under Tack eighth in :10 2/5. Lady Sheila Stable’s Matt King Coal is two for two this year after taking the lead at the start of Saturday’s $75,000 Harrison E. Johnson Memorial Stakes at Laurel, surrendering it briefly to fellow OBS graduate Afleet Willy (June ’15) in mid-stretch then coming again to beat him by a head on the wire. It’s the first stakes victory for the 3-year-old Florida-bred colt by Cool Coal Man, a two time OBS graduate. He was sold by Abbie Road Farm (Lisa Mc Greevy), Agent, at the 2014 August Selected Yearling Sale before being purchased for $250,000 out of the Eisaman Equine consignment at the 2015 April Sale after working an eighth in :10 flat at the Under Tack Show.
