Lawrence’s Favorable Outcome moved up on the outside on the turn in Saturday’s $200, 000 Swale Stakes (G2) at Gulfstream, closed relentlessly down the lane and wore down odds-on favorite Three Rules and scored by three quarters of a length. It’s the first stakes win for the 3-year-old colt by Flatter, third in the Champagne Stakes (G1) last fall. Consigned by Tom McCrocklin, Agent, to the 2016 OBS March Sale, he was sold to Klaravich for $300,000 after breezing a quarter in :21 flat at the Under Tack Show. MMG Stables LLC’s El Areeb scored his second straight graded stakes win in Aqueduct’s $250,000 Withers Stakes (G3), taking command after turning for home and cruising to a 4-1/4 length victory. That’s four in a row for the 3-year-old colt by Exchange Rate, trained by Cathal Lynch, now 6-4-1-0 with $334,200 in earnings to date. Altamira Racing Stable and David A. Bernsen’s St. Joe Bay led from gate to wire and scored his second straight graded stakes victory with a 2-1/4 decision in Saturday’s $200,000 Palos Verdes Stakes (G2) at Santa Anita. That’s three straight wins for the 5-year-old Florida-bred gelding by Saint Anddan, trained by Peter Miller, now 21-5-5-3 with $377,175 in earnings. A two time OBS graduate, he was consigned by Bobby Jones Equine LLC, Agent to the 2013 Winter Mixed Sale and then purchased for $60,000 out of the Bobby Dodd consignment at the 2014 June Sale after an Under Tack eighth in :10 flat. watch his under tack video
