She was purchased for $150,000 at the 2015 OBS March Sale by Gelfenstein out of the Woodford Thoroughbreds consignment after breezing an eighth in :9 4/5 at the Under Tack Show. Although Black Hawk Stable’s Alsvid broke a step slowly in Saturday’s $67,700 Kelly’s Landing Stakes at Churchill Downs, the graded stakes winning millionaire recovered quickly, took the early lead and was never headed en route to a 1-1/2 length victory over fellow OBS graduate Schivarelli (April ’13). It’s the eleventh stakes win for the 7-year-old son of Officer, trained by Chris Hartman, now 43-15-11-7 with $1,274,618 in earnings. Drawing Away Stable’s Doctor J Dub was ignored at 28-1 going into Saturday’s $75,000 Bob Umphrey Turf Sprint Stakes at Gulfstream Park, but he went right to the front and stayed there until the wire, holding off a stretch-long challenge to win by a neck. It’s the first stakes win for the 6-year-old gelding by Sharp Humor, sold for $195,000 at the 2012 OBS March Sale by Wavertree Stables, Inc.
