The 3-year-old daughter of Temple City is a two time OBS graduate, purchased out of the Select Sales consignment at the 2015 Winter Mixed Sale and then resold by Halcyon Hammock Farm, Agent, for $230,000 at the 2015 April Sale after she breezed an eighth in :10 flat at the Under Tack Show. A pair of promising youngsters broke their maidens on Saturday. At Gulfstream, Repole Stable’s Mo Power put the lessons learned in his first start last month to good use, leading a 1-2-3 OBS sweep of a $50,000 maiden special weight test taking over from front running Dixie Runner (March ’15) inside the final furlong and then holding off a late charge by Doctor Mounty (June ’15) to win by a length. Dixie Runner settled for third. Mo Power, trained by Todd Pletcher, earned $30,000 for his effort. The 3-year-old colt by Uncle Mo was purchased for $325,000 by Jonathan Thomas on behalf of Repole Stable out of the Eddie Woods consignment at the 2015 April Sale after turning in a quarter in :21 2/5 at the Under Tack Show. watch his under tack video
At Tampa Bay Downs, trainer Baltazar Galvan unveiled Miguel Barraza’a Tiger Blood, and the 3-year-old Florid-bred colt by Cowtown Cat colt took charge of the six furlong maiden special weight test at the start, shrugged off a challenger at the head of the stretch and bounded away to a 9-1/4 length victory under wraps in 1:09 4/5. He was consigned by Journeyman Bloodstock Services, Inc. (Brent & Crystal Fernung), Agent, to the 2014 August Yearling Sale and sold to Juan Pablo Malagon for $4,500.
