The Under Tack Show for the Horses of Racing Age Section of the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company’s 2016 Winter Mixed Sale is set for Monday, January 25th at 10:00 a.m.
There are 115 horses cataloged in the Racing Age section, which begins with Hip No. 525. Hip No.’s 525 – 593 can be found in the regular Winter Mixed Sale catalog. A printed supplemental catalog, Hip No’s 594 – 639, is now available at the sales grounds. The entire Winter Mixed Sale catalog can be viewed via the OBS website at http://obssales.com. The website’s searchable and sortable master index provides links to past performances, under tack videos, pedigree and consignor information as well as pedigree updates occurring since the catalog was printed.
The iPad version of the entire catalog is available via the equineline Sales Catalog app. The app allows users to download and view the catalog, record notes and also provides innovative search, sort and rating capability. The Horses of Racing Age catalog features a mix of experienced race horses, promising 3-year-olds and unraced 2-year-olds.
Buyers will also have the opportunity to watch one of the horses race live the day before the sale when Hip No. 626, Wicked One, goes to the post in the $50,000 OBS Sprint Stakes on Tuesday. The 3-year-old daughter of In Summation broke her maiden last time out at Gulfstream in December,
Graded stakes winner Reporting Star will sell as Hip No. 639. The 6-year-old gelding by Circular Quay, winner of Woodbine’s Play the King Stakes (G2) in June, comes into the sale with earnings of $617,746. He captured the El Prado Stakes at Gulfstream in December and was a sharp second in the recent Sunshine Millions Turf Stakes.
Miss Margaret (Hip No. 621), a 4-year-old stakes placed filly by Bwana Charlie, was on the board in the Honey Ryder and Sanibel Island Stakes at Gulfstream last year.
Hip No 593, One More Shot, 3-year-old colt by Trappe Shot, will be offered on the heels of an impressive eight length victory at first asking in a Maiden Special Weight test on December 23.
Hip No. 555, Time Will Tell, a colt by Malibu Moon out of stakes placed What Time Is It, was second in an Aqueduct Maiden Special Weight in his only start on December 19th.
Lillie’s Answer (Hip No. 623), broke her maiden at first asking last summer. The 4-year-old daughter of Kitten’s Joy was third in a Tampa Bay turf allowance on January 2nd in her only other start.
The 2-year-olds include Hip No. 534, Tizuis or Tizuaint, a half brother by Tizdejavu to stakes winner Mellow Fellow; Hip No. 553, Wing and Wheel, a colt by Wilburn, a half brother to graded stakes placed stakes winning OBS graduate Devil’s Cave; Hip No 569, filly by Majestic Warrior out of multiple graded stakes winner Ebony Breeze, and Hip No. 581, a half brother to stakes winner Westmoreland Girl by Kantharos.
