Lawrence’s Strict Compliance stepped into stakes company for the first time in the $150,000 Penn Oaks at Penn National on Saturday, and the 3-year-old Florida-bred filly by Into Mischief rallied to edge fellow OBS graduate Quality Rocks (August ’13) by half a length for her third straight win. Trained by Chad Brown, her first stakes victory leaves her with a 4-3-1-0 record and earnings of $160,100. Joe Ragsdale’s Sarah Sis took control of Saturday’s $75,000 Panthers Stakes at Prairie Meadows at the break and stayed in front all the way, reporting home first by a length and three quarters, with fellow OBS graduate Magnolia Steel (June ’14) checking in third. It’s the second stakes win for the 3-year-old daughter of Sharp Humor, winner of Oaklawn’s Honeybee Stakes (G3) earlier this year.
