Tanma Corporation’s Chitu idle since the Kentucky Derby (G1), returned to work at Santa Anita on Friday in the $101,750 Damascus Stakes, went right to the lead and never looked back, cruising to a 2-1/2 length victory, with fellow OBS graduate Unbridled’s Note (March ‘11) checking in third. It’s the second stakes win for last spring’s Sunland Derby (G3) winner, now 5-4-1-0 with $561,800 in earnings. Chitu’s win began a big day for OBS consignor Southern Chase Farm, Inc.
