The bay colt, who worked an eighth in :10 flat at last Wednesday’s Under Tack session, is out of Rooneys Princess, by Deputy Minister, and is a half brother to stakes winner Prince Rooney.
Hip No. 548, a chestnut colt by High Cotton consigned by Ocala Stud, was sold to St. Elias and West Point Thoroughbreds, Inc. for $600,000. The half brother to stakes winner St. Louis City out of Keikik, by Aloha Prospector, worked a quarter at the Under Tack Show in :21 1/5.
Hip No. 483, by Two Step Salsa out of stakes placed Homesteader, by Pioneering, a half sister to stakes winner King and Crusader, was sold for $420,000 to Conquest Stables LLC. The dark bay or brown colt, consigned by Eisaman Equine, Agent, worked an eighth in :10 flat at the Under Tack Show.
Hip No. 506, a son of Henny Hughes consigned by Grassroots Training & Sales, LLC, Agent, was sold to Bear Stables, Ltd. for $310,000. The chestnut colt, who worked an eighth in :10 1/5, is out of Impart, by Maria’s Mon, a half sister to stakes winner Wiseman’s Ferry.
Hip No. 560 brought $290,000, the daughter of Ghostzapper going to Dominic Brennan, Agent for Highland Yard, LLC. The bay filly, consigned by Price Thoroughbreds (Andro and Tracey Price), Agent, is out of Koko Pop, by A.P. Indy, a daughter of grade one stakes winner Got Koko.
Pelican Stable LLC went to $280,000 for Hip No. 362, a dark bay or brown Discreet Cat filly consigned by Eddie Woods, Agent. Out of Fico, by Silver Deputy, she turned in an eighth in :10 flat at the Under Tack Show.
Hip No. 573, a chestnut colt by D’wildcat consigned by Eisaman Equine, Agent, was sold to Hubert Guy Bloodstock, Agent for Robert Hess, Jr. for $250,000. Out of Lady Kilkeelan, by Lil’s Lad, a half sister to stakes winner Copingwithvictory, he worked an eighth in :10 1/5.
Hip No. 336, a daughter of Kitten’s Joy consigned by Niall Brennan Stables, Agent, was sold to Regis Farms for $240,000. The bay filly, who worked an eighth in :10 2/5, is out of Exceedexpectations, by Tale of the Cat, and is a full sister to stakes winner Politicallycorrect.
Stonestreet Stables LLC paid $200,000 for Hip No. 392, It’s a Lie, a daughter of Yes It’s True whose quarter in :20 4/5 was the co-fastest at the distance at Wednesday’s Under Tack session. Consigned by Indian Prairie Ranch, Agent, the dark bay or brown filly is out of For Scarlett, by Red Ransom, and is a half sister to stakes placed Samurai Slam.
Also working in :20 4/5 was Hip No. 492, a gray or roan colt by Rockport Harbor consigned by Top Line Sales LLC, Agent, and sold to David M. Clark for $200,000. He’s out of stakes winner Hummel, by Jeblar, a half sister to stakes winner Hollywood Left.
Hip No. 502, consigned by Bo Hunt, Agent, also brought $200,000, the son of Candy Ride (ARG) going to Bloom Racing Stable LLC. The chestnut colt, a half brother to stakes winner American Sugar, is out of I Love America, by Quiet American.
For the session, 208 horses grossed $13,091,500, compared with 207 bringing a total of $8,855,000 at the corresponding session in 2012. The average price was $62,940, up 47.1% compared with $42,778 a year ago while the median price of $40,000 rose 33.3% from $30,000 a year ago. The buyback percentage was 14.4%; it was 14.8% last year. Twenty-six horses sold for $100,000 or more compared with 17 in 2012.
