Hip No. 35, a weanling colt by Scat Daddy consigned by Bobby Jones Equine LLC, Agent, was sold to Tom McCrocklin, Agent, for $55,000 to top the Consignor Preferred session of the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company’s 2012 Fall Mixed Sale. The chestnut colt is out of Placerita, by Gilded Time, a half sister to stakes winner Singing Heart.
Foundations Farm went to $50,000 for Hip No. 50, a filly by Majestic Warrior consigned by Kaizen Sales (Richard Kent), Agent. The bay weanling filly is out of stakes placed Royal Confection, by Candi’s Gold, and is a half sister to stakes winner Karama.
Hip No. 94, a Super Saver colt consigned by Orlyana Farm, was sold to Mt. Baldy for $47,000. The chestnut weanling colt is out of Athena of Troy, by Tejano Run, a half sister to graded stakes winner Bear Fan.
Hip No. 76, a filly by Big Brown consigned by Kaizen Sales (Richard Kent), Agent, was purchased by Machmer Hall for $45,000. The bay weanling filly is out of Trudy Capote, by Souvenir Copy, a half sister to stakes placed Dixie Crisp.
Hip No. 13, a weanling colt by Roman Ruler consigned by Pelican State Thoroughbreds, Agent, went to Foundations Farm for $42,000. The dark bay or brown colt, a half brother to grade one winner Request For Parole, is out of Madison’s Quest, by Deputy Minister.
Hip No. 22, Miss Causeway, a mare by Giant’s Causeway consigned by Glen Hill Farm was the session’s top priced broodmare, selling to Germania Farms, Inc. for $40,000. The 8-year-old chestnut mare, in foal to Northern Afleet, is out of Miss Bold Appeal, by Valid Appeal, and is a half sister to grade one winner Jersey Girl.
For the session, 119 horses brought a total of $1,689,900, compared with 84 horses selling for a total of $1,112,200 at last year’s consignor preferred session. The average was $14,201, up 7.3% from $13,240 in 2011 while the median price was $10,000, a gain of 17.6% from $8,500 a year ago. The buyback percentage was 20.7%; it was 30 % last year.
