The chestnut colt is out of Private Prom Party, by Private Terms, and is a half brother to stakes winner Ribo Bobo.
Michael Sucher went to $37,000 for Hip No. 265, Too Tall Cotton, a weanling colt by High Cotton also consigned by Summerfield. The bay colt is out of Royal Cadence, by Rhythm, a half sister to stakes winner Shirley’s Legacy.
Summerfield also consigned Hip No. 313, a weanling colt by Congrats and sold to Rustlewood Farm for $31,000. The bay colt is out of Sweettay, by Crafty Friend, a half sister to graded stakes winner Sweet Saree.
Hip No. 240, a weanling colt by High Cotton consigned by Andy Cant, Agent, went to Top Speed Farm for $29,000. The dark bay or brown colt is out of Party Date, by Formal Dinner, a half sister to stakes winner Out ‘Till Midnight.
Hip No. 325, Zip Trick, a 6-year-old mare by City Zip consigned by Summerfield (Francis & Barbara Vanlangendonck), Agent, was sold to Jolane McAlister, Agent, for $29,000. The stakes placed bay mare, in foal to Wildcat Heir, is out of Tricky Mistress, by Clever Trick, and is a half sister to OBS June graduate Shkspeare Shaliyah, recent winner of the Pilgrim Stakes (G3) at Belmont.
For the final session, 185 horses grossed $1,131,000, compared with 182 horses bringing a total of $870,200 last year. The average was $6,114, up 27.9% compared with $4,781 in 2010, while the median price was $3,700, up 37% compared with $2,700 a year ago. The buyback rate was 22.3%; it was 34.3% last year.
At Tuesday’s Consignor Preferred session, 84 horses brought a total of $1,123,600 compared with 166 horses selling for a total of $2,600,200 at last year’s consignor preferred session. The average was $13,376 compared with $15,664 in 2010 while the median price was $8,500, up from with $7,500 a year ago. The buyback percentage was 30%; it was 35.1% last year.
The sale topper was Hip No. 63, Great Venue, a mare by Unbridled’s Song consigned by Glen Hill Farm, and sold to Rustlewood Farm for $95,000. The 3-year-old gray or roan mare, in foal to Scat Daddy, is out of stakes winner Rose Colored Lady, by Formal Dinner, and is a half sister to graded stakes winner Too Much Bling.
The sale’s second highest price, originally an RNA, was Hip No. 41, Alike, a 4-year-old Grand Slam mare consigned by Pauls Mill Bloodstock, Agent for Cloverleaf Farm II and sold post-sale to Steve Holliday for $60,000. The bay mare, a full sister to graded stakes winner Alke out of stakes placed Pasampsi, by Crow (FR), is in foal to Congrats.
