Ken & Sarah Ramsey’s Stephanie’s Kitten was overlooked at odds of 9-1 coming into Keeneland’s $400, 000 Darley Alcibiades Stakes (G1) on Friday, but the 2-year-old daughter of Kitten’s Joy rallied down the stretch and won her first stakes race by a length and a half. Consigned by Eddie Woods, Agent, to the 2011 OBS April Sale, she’s now 4-2-0-2 and has earned $277,526.
B.J. Wright’s Jeranimo added Santa Anita’s $150,000 Oak Tree Mile Stakes (G2) to his resume on Saturday, winning by three quarters of a length, with fellow OBS graduate John Johny Jak (April ’09) finishing third.. It’s the first win in seven starts this year for the 5-year-old Florida-bred son of Congaree, sold for $50,000 by On Course Sales, Agent, at the 2007 OBS August Sale. The win gives him a 22-6-4-4 record and $660,400 in earnings.
Black Hawk Stable’s Alsvid is two for two and a stakes winner after his 1-1/2 length victory in the $75,000 Kip Deville Stakes at Remington Park on Friday. The 2-year-old colt by Officer, who has earned $61,545 to date, was sold for $55,000 by Stephens Thoroughbreds, Agent, at the 2011 OBS April Sale.
