It’s the fourth graded stakes win for the 5-year-old Florida-bred son of Graeme Hall, consigned by Kaizen Sales, Agent, to the 2006 OBS Fall Mixed Sale. The newest OBS millionaire is now 21-7-4-0 and has earned $1,662,546.
Dogwood Stables Aikenite scored his first stakes win in style at Keeneland on Saturday, coming from last of five at the top of the stretch of the $175,000 Commonwealth Stakes (G2) to win going away by 2-1/4 lengths. The two-time OBS graduate was sold first by Summerfield, Agent, at the 2008 August Sale before being purchased for $225,000 out of the Eisaman Equine consignment at the 2009 February Sale. The win gives him a 17-4-3-2 record and $487,460 in earnings.
Kaleem Shah’s May Day Rose picked up her second stakes win in four starts this year with a three quarter length victory in Saturday’s $100,000 Instant Racing Stakes at Oaklawn Park. Consigned by breeder Bridlewood Farm, she was sold for a sale topping $220,000 at the 2010 OBS June Sale after failing to bring her reserve at OBS March. The 3-year-old Florida-bred daughter of Rockport Harbor, now 8-4-1-0, has earned $264,555 to date.
Capitol Hill Thoroughbreds & Herb Oster LLC’s Miss Blakely scored her third stakes win Saturday, taking the $60,000 South Beach Stakes at Gulfstream by a head. The 5-year-daughter of Smart Strike, now 20-7-1-4 with earnings of $300,000, was sold for $25,000 at the 2008 Adena Springs Sale.
Robert Abbo Racing Stables LLC’s Immortal Eyes romped to a 4-3/4 length victory in Saturday’s $55,000 Webb Snyder Stakes at Charles Town for his second straight win. It’s the second stakes win for the 6-year-old Florida-bred son of Greatness, a three time veteran of the OBS sales ring. He was first sold at the 2006 Winter Mixed Sale then resold at the 2006 August Yearling Sale. Then, consigned by Eddie Woods, Agent, to the 2007 February Sale, he brought $220,000. The win gives him a 22-6-5-3 record and $251,497 in earnings.
Ghost Rige Farms & Phil Schoenthal’s Miss Fleetfoot tried stakes company for the first time in the $53,500 Primonetta Stakes at Pimlico Saturday, and she reported home a 2-1/4 length winner. That’s three wins in five starts this year for the 6-year-old Florida-bred daughter of Northern Afleet., now 26-13-3-3 with earnings of $234,210. Sold first in the Four Horsemen’s Ranch Dispersal at the 2006 OBS Winter Mixed Sale, she was consigned by Abbie Road Farm, Agent, to the 2006 OBS August Sale.
