Warren E. Byrne’s Portsidescored her first stakes win Saturday, taking the $156, 690 Star Shoot Stakes at Woodbine by a neck. That’s two wins in four starts this year for the 3-year-old Florida-bred daughter of Congrats, consigned by Craig L. Wheeler to the 2008 OBS Fall Mixed Sale and then sold for $87,000 by Cary Frommer, Agent, at the 2010 OBS March Sale. Now 7-2-2-1, she has earned $149,744.
Jagger Inc.’s Sneaking Uponyou collected his third stakes win at Tampa Bay Downs on Saturday, rolling to a seven length score in the $75,000 Hilton Garden Inn Sprint Stakes. It’s the first win in three starts this year for the 5-year-old Florida-bred son of Snuck In, consigned by Kilbride Training Center, Agent, to the 2008 OBS April Sale. The win gives him a 25-7-4-5 record and $304,263 in earnings.
Brooklyn Farm’s It’s Never To Late picked up the first stakes win of his career, besting fellow OBS graduate Coffee Boy (April ’09) by a nose in Saturday’s $60,000 Sunshine State Stakes at Gulfstream Park. That’s three wins in as many starts this year for the 6-year-old Florida-bred gelding by Repent, now 33-12-6-2 with $303,735 in earnings. He was consigned by Turtle Pond, Agent, to the 2006 OBS August Sale.
