The dark bay or brown colt, whose quarter in :20 3/5 was co-fastest at the distance at Saturday’s Under Tack session, is out of Silence Please, by Quiet American, and is a half brother to stakes winner Sky Music.
Hip No. 320, Sweet Dreams, a Bernardini filly consigned by Niall Brennan Stables, Agent, was sold to Lane’s End Bloodstock for $500,000. Out of Turbo Dream, by Unbridled and a half sister to grade one winner Dream Rush, the dark bay or brown filly worked an eighth in :10 2/5 at the Under Tack Show.
Hip No. 329, a filly by Medaglia d’Oro who worked an eighth in :10 1/5 at the Under Tack Show, went to Mark Casse, Agent, for $450,000. Consigned by Eddie Woods, Agent, the dark bay or brown filly is out of User History, by Mr. Prospector, a daughter of grade one winner User Friendly (GB).
Jack Sims went to $400,000 for Hip No. 371, a Smart Strike colt consigned by Excel Bloodstock (Bruno DeBerdt and Rudy Delguidice), Agent. The dark bay or brown colt, out of graded stakes placed Aspen Tree, by Holy Bull, worked an eighth in :10 3/5 at the Under Tack Show.
Hip No. 317, a colt by War Front consigned by Parrish Farms, Agent, went to Steven W. Young, Agent, for $375,000. The bay colt, who worked a quarter in :21 1/5 at the Under Tack Show, is out of True Gritz, by Yes It’s True, a half sister to the dam of stakes placed Thatthingofep.
For the session, 121 horses grossed $14,983,000, compared with 83 horses bringing a total of $9,640,000 at last year’s second session. The average price was $123,826, up 6.6% from $116,145 a year ago, while the median price was $87,000, a gain of 7.9% compared with $80,000 in 2010. The buyback percentage was 19.8%; it was 27.8% last year.
For the entire sale, 244 horses sold for a total of $25,563,000 compared with 167 horses grossing $17,766,000 in 2010. The average price was $104,786 compared with $106,383 a year ago while the median price was $70,000 compared with $75,000 in 2010. The buyback percentage was 23.9%; it was 29.5% last year.
