Thomas Halasz, Ryan Johnson, Paul L. Newhart and Martha Miller et al.’s Harlington’s Rose was shuffled back in the early going of Sunday’s $100,250 Las Flores Stakes at Santa Anita, but the 4-year-old daughter of Harlington swung out for the drive, hit the front a sixteenth from the finish and won her first graded stakes race by three quarters of a length. Trained by Steve Knapp, she’s now 21-4-5-2 and has earned $371,040. Consigned to the 2012 OBS August Sale by Y-Lo Racing Stable, she was purchased for $7,500 by BVDM. The win was the weekend’s seventh graded stakes victory by an OBS graduate.
Pick Six Racing and Silver Streak Stables’ Ackeret picked up his first stakes win in Sunday’s $100,000 Jimmy Winkfield Stakes at Aqueduct, rallying along the rail to take the lead a furlong from home and drawing away to a 2-1/4 length victory. The 3-year-old son of Mach Ride worked a quarter in :21 2/5 before he was purchased by Pick Six for $53,000 at the 2014 OBS June Sale. Susan Moulton’s Cat Sup tracked the leader in the early going of the $100,000 Pelican Stakes on Sunday at Delta Downs, took the lead in the shadow of the wire and held on to win by a nose. It’s the first stakes win for the two time OBS graduate, sold first by Select Sales, Agent, at the 2013 August Sale. After working an Under Tack eighth in :10 1/5 prior to the 2014 March Sale, he was purchased by Ms. Moulton for $40,000 from Sugar Hill, Agent. Trained by Glenn Delahoussaye, the 3-year-old Florida-bred gelding by Discreet Cat is now 7-3-2-0 with $137,950 in earnings. watch his under tack work
