Ramsey for $120,000 to top the Consignor Preferred session of the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company’s 2014 Fall Mixed Sale. The 5-year-old bay mare, a half sister to grade one stakes winner Consolidator, is out of stakes winner Mycatcandance, by Storm Cat.
The highest priced weaning was Hip No. 69, a daughter of Lookin At Lucky consigned by Woodford Thoroughbreds, Agent, sold to Belle Glos Farm for $87,000. The chestnut filly, a half sister to recent Arlington-Washington Stakes winner Quality Rocks, is out of Elusive Virgin, by Elusive Quality, a half sister to graded stakes winner Purely Cozzene.
Hip No. 108, Paper Plane, a stakes placed daughter of Fusaichi Pegasus in foal to Scat Daddy, consigned by Summerfield (Francis & Barbara Vanlangendonck), Agent, was sold to France Weiner for $72,000. The 6-year-old bay mare is out of Honor Lass, by Honor Grades, a half sister to graded stakes winner Vesta.
Albert Davis went to $60,000 for Hip No. 38, a weanling bay filly by Into Mischief consigned by Tonya Jurgens, Agent. She’s out of stakes winner Carl’s Frosty Girl, by Pulling Punches.
Hip No. 65, a chestnut weanling colt by Cape Blanco (IRE) consigned by Summerfield (Francis & Barbara Vanlangendonck), Agent, was sold to Machmer Hall & Grey Dawn Stables & France Weiner for $60,000. He’s out of Dove Creek, by Dove Hunt, and is a half brother to stakes winner Moneigh Lisa.
Hip No. 179, Kelwynne, a broodmare prospect by Yes It’s True consigned by Casse Sales LLC (Justin Casse), Agent for Becky Thomas & Justin Casse, went to H & E Ranch for $60,000. The 4-year-old bay filly is out of stakes placed Quanah County, by Valid Expectations, and is a half sister to graded stakes winner Quantum Miss.
Pro Flow went to $60,000 for Hip No. 195, a daughter of Old Fashioned consigned by Woodford Thoroughbreds, Agent. The bay weanling filly is out of Sexy Suzy, by After Market, from the family of graded stakes winner Purely Cozzene.
Hip No. 12, a weanling daughter of Astrology consigned by Perrone Sales, Ltd., Agent, was sold to Ju Ju Beans for $52,000. The bay filly is out of Yang N Ying, by Forestry, a half sister to graded stakes placed stakes winner Cryptograph.
Hip No. 45, a weanling filly by Dominus consigned by Silver Oaks Farm, Agent, was sold to Justin Casse for JSM Equine LLC for $50,000. The chestnut filly is out of stakes placed Classy Daniela, by Regal Classic.
For the session, 130 horses sold for a total of $2,136,400, compared with 121 horses selling for a total of $2,724,500 at last year’s Consignor Preferred session. The average was $16,434 compared with $22,517 in 2013 while the median price was $9,250, compared with $18,000 last year. The buyback percentage was 34%; it was 12.3% a year ago.
The Fall Mixed Sale concludes on Wednesday with an Open session (Hip No.’s 239 – 470) beginning at 10:30 a.m. followed immediately by the Horses of Racing Age section (Hip No.’s 471 – 575).
