William & Corrine Heiligbrodt’s Cinco Charlie, the first graded stakes winner of the OBS graduate class of 2014, added Delaware Park’s $75,525 First State Dash Stakes to his resume on Saturday, taking over turning for home and then drawing away to an authoritative 4-1/2 length victory. It’s the second stakes win for the 2-year-old Indian Charlie colt, winner of Churchill’s Bashford Manor Stakes (G3) in June, leaving him with a 5-3-0-1 record and $159,422 in earnings. Roman and David Jacobson’s Stormin Monarcho also picked up his second stakes win on Saturday at Delaware, holding off a late challenge and winning the $77,312 DTHA Governors Day Stakes by a nose. It’s the third win in nine starts this year for the 4-year-old gelding by Monarchos, sold for $85,000 by Imagine . . . at the 2012 OBS March Sale after working an Under Tack eighth in :10 3/5.
