It’s the second straight grade one win for the 3-year-old daughter of Old Fashioned, sold for $340,000 by de Meric Sales, Agent, after she sped an eighth in :9 4/5 at the Under Tack Show for the 2013 OBS April Sale. Hardacre Farm LLC’s Ready Signal picked up her second straight stakes win at Gulfstream on Saturday, closing with a rush from next to last, splitting horses in the lane and winning the $75,000 Powder Break Stakes by a length and three quarters. The 5-year-old mare by More Than Ready, sold for $190,000 by Jerry Bailey Sales Agency, Agent, at the 2011 OBS March Sale, is now 19-4-2-2 and has earned $213,694. watch her under tack video
Rustlewood Farm’s Prudhoe Bay came out for the drive in Saturday’s $75,000 Ocala Breeders’ Sales Sophomore Stakes at Tampa Bay Downs, wore down the leaders and was up in the final yards to edge fellow OBS graduate Brothersofthetime (August ’12) by a head for his second stakes victory. Fourth in the Swale Stakes (G2) after his victory in the OBS Sprint Stakes in January, the 3-year-old Florida-bred colt by Songandaprayer is now 5-3-0-0 with earnings of $111,535. Pinnacle Racing Stables, H. Jack Hendricks and Roger L. Justice’s Holiday Magic rallied to take command of the Tampa Bay Downs’ $75,000 Stonehedge Farm South Sophomore Fillies Stakes in the stretch and then drew away to a 3-3/4 length victory, with fellow OBS graduate Legal Laura (August ’12) settling for third. It’s the second stakes score for the 3-year-old Florida-bred daughter of Congrats, now 9-3-1-3 with $188,150 in earnings. Trilogy Stable and Laurie Plesa’s Laurel Futurity winner Yes I’m Lucky got his 3-year-old campaign off on the right foot, coming from off the pace and scoring by a head in the $73,500 Mr. Light Stakes on the turf at Gulfstream Park. It’s the fourth stakes win for the colt by Yes It’s True, sold by Eisaman Equine, Agent,for $105,000 at the 2013 March Sale after his Under Tack eighth in :10 1/5.
