B.J. Wright’s Jeranimo came from last in a field seven of with a strong late run, blew past the leaders in midstretch and rolled to a 2-3/4 length win in Sunday’s $150, 500 San Gabriel Stakes (G2) at Santa Anita. It’s the sixth graded stakes win for the 7-year-old Florida-bred son of Congaree, who also won the San Gabriel in 2010 and was second in the 2011 renewal. Sold for $50,000 by On Course Sales, Agent, at the 2007 OBS August Sale, he’s now 32-9-6-5 and has earned $1,197,400.
