Singlet scores in Aqueduct’s Garland of Roses

Michael Dubb, Larry N. Brafman and Daniel M. Ryan’s Singlet took charge of Saturday’s $75, 000 Garland of Roses Stakes at Aqueduct on the turn and rolled from there to a 1-1/4 length victory. It’s the third win in seven starts this year for the 3-year-old Florida-bred filly by Real Quiet, sold for $35,000 by McKathan Bros., Agent, at the 2011 OBS April Sale. Now 10-5-3-0, she has earned $256,644 to date.  watch her under tack video

Scott Speith’s Cor Cor is two for two and a stakes winner after her wire to wire half-length win in Tampa’s $75, 000 Sandpiper Stakes on Saturday. The 2-year-old Florida-bred daughter of Smoke Glacken was consigned and bought back by Southern Chase Farm (Greg & Karen Dodd), Agent, at the 2012 OBS March Sale before they sold her for $40,000 at the OBS June Sale. Lanni Family Trust’s Reneesgotzip posted her third stakes win of the year on Saturday, getting up in the final strides to win the $70,440 Skillful Joy Stakes at Hollywood Park by a neck. Four for eight this year, the 3-year-old filly by City Zip is now 9-5-2-1 and has earned $454,460. She was sold by Ricky Leppala, Agent, for $45,000 at the 2011 OBS April Sale. watch her under tack video

OBS graduates scored in three Claiming Crown Stakes on Saturday as Gulfstream Park opened its 2012-13 meeting. Ken & Sarah Ramsey’s Bernie the Maestro won the $97,000 Rapid Transit Stakes by 2-3/4 lengths with the Ramsey’s fellow OBS graduate Won Fast Bullet (August ’08) checking in third. Sold by Sabine Stable for $25,000 at the 2009 April Sale, Bernie the Maestro, by Bernstein, is 47-12-7-7 with earnings of $423,254. watch his under tack video

The Ramsey’s $100,000 2009 OBS March graduate Brother Bird was a three quarter length winner of the $98,000 Iron Horse Stakes, improving to 25-9-5-3 with $234,175 in earnings. The half brother to Kentucky Derby winner Mine That Bird was sold by Cary Frommer, Agent. watch his under tack video

Chasing Tails Stables’ two-time OBS graduate Starship Truffles took the $96,000 Glass Slipper Stakes by four lengths. The 3-year-old Ghostzapper filly was bought back by Nickajack/Rey de Oros, Agent, at the 2011 OBS April Stakes before selling her for $22,000 at OBS June. She’s now 16-9-1-2 with earnings of $146,805. watch her under video
