Booth Captures Whitmore to Lead OBS Stakes Graduates

For Immediate Release

William and Corinne Heiligbrodt, Jackpot Farm, and Whispering Oaks Farm’s Booth (Mitole -Sophia’s Song, by Bellamy Road) led the slate of stakes-winning OBS graduates this past weekend when he scored a gate-to-wire victory in the six-furlong $250,000 Whitmore Stakes (G3) at Oaklawn Park March 15, his second consecutive stakes victory.

Booth’s Whitmore triumph came on the heels of his front-running 4 ¾-length victory in the $145,000 Commodore Overnight Stakes Feb. 24 at Oaklawn.

“I think it’s like his daddy (Mitole) – with time, with time,” trainer Steve Asmussen told the Oaklawn Park media relations team of Booth. “It’s his 4-year-old year, which was when Mitole became Mitole. Those are two really impressive races against some very nice sprinters.”

Booth was purchased for $225,000 by the Heiligbrodts and Jackpot Farm at the 2023 OBS March Sale from the consignment of Wavertree Stables after breezing in :10 flat. (Under Tack Video)

Trained by Eddie Plesa, Jr., the bay filly was purchased by her owners for $295,000 from the Ocala Stud consignment at the 2023 OBS March Sale after breezing in :21 1/5. (Under Tack Video)

Trained by Steve Asmussen, the filly was purchased by Bradley Thoroughbreds for $485,000 from the Scanlon Training & Sales consignment at the 2023 OBS Spring Sale of Two-Year-Olds in Training after breezing in :9 3/5.
