Caracaro Filly Leads Day Two of OBS March Under Tack Show

For Immediate Release

Under clear skies and ideal conditions, Hip 446, a bay filly by Caracaro consigned by On The Run Sales, made sure she stood out from the pack when she breezed an eighth of a mile in :9 3/5 Thursday, the fastest time at the distance during the first two days of the OBS March under tack show.

The filly is the first foal out of the Point of Entry mare Port Marazion and is from the female family of multiple graded stakes winner and OBS graduate Pomeroys Pistol. As the lone offering by Moses Longoria’s On The Run consignment at the March sale, he had faith the filly would take the opportunity to show her best self.

“I didn’t know she would go that :9 3/5. I thought maybe she would go in 10 flat or :9 4/5, so I was happy with that,” Longoria said. “She’s a nice horse. She’s real athletic and I always felt like she was going to be fast. I’ve just been babying her the whole time trying to save it until we got here. I’ve always liked her; she’s always been a nice filly. I’ve just kept my fingers crossed.”

The Caracaro filly’s time separated her on a day when 23 horses breezed in :9 4/5.
