OBS grads Power Squeeze and Iscreamuscream captured G1’s at Saratoga and Del Mar.
Lea Farms, LLC’s Power Squeeze (Union Rags – Callmethesqueeze) rated well off the pace in Saratoga’s $600,000 Alabama Stakes (G1), circled horses on the turn to reach contention, dueled with favored Candied in deep stretch and was best by a nose at the wire. That’s three graded stakes wins for the 3-year-old filly by Union Rags, now 10-6-1-1 for trainer Jorge Delgado with $897,450 in earnings. Consigned by Halcyon Hammock Farms, Agent, to the 2023 OBS Spring Sale, she was sold for $90,000 after breezing an Under Tack eighth in :10 1/5. watch her under tack video Spring Sale walking video
Little Red Feather Racing, John Hundley Jr, Marsha Naify, John Snyder and Stacey Snyder’s unbeaten Iscreamuscream (Twirling Candy – Silver Screamer) set the early pace in the $600,000 Del Mar Oaks (G1), surrendered the lead on the backstretch, took it back after straightening away in the lane and held sway by 1-1/2 lengths at the finish. The 3-year-old daughter of Twirling Candy was consigned to the 2023 OBS March Sale by GOP Racing Stable and sold for $145,000 after turning in an Under Tack eighth in :9 4/5. She’s now four for four with two graded stakes wins for trainer Philip D’Amato and has earned $369,600 to date. watch her under tack video March Sale walking video
