Xitco’s Collusion Illusion earned a berth in the Breeders’ Cup Sprint (G1) with a victory over older horses in the $251,500 Bing Crosby Stakes (G1) at Del Mar on Saturday. The 3-year-old Florida-bred colt by Twirling Candy rallied on the turn to reach contention, slipped between horses to take the lead on the inside in the final sixteenth and held off a late charge to score by a nose. It’s the third graded stakes win for the lightly raced colt, trained by Mark Glatt, and leaves him with a 6-5-0-0 career record and $398,751 in earnings. Three Diamonds Farm’s Cross Border battled between horses in the stretch run of Saturday’s $250,000 Bowling Green Stakes (G2) at Saratoga, crossed the wire second by a neck, and was awarded the victory when the stewards disqualified Sadler’s Joy. It’s the first graded stakes win and second straight stakes win at Saratoga for the 6-year-old ridgling by English Channel, sold for $10,000 by de Meric Sales, Agent, at the 2016 OBS June Sale after working an Under Tack quarter in :22 2/5. Klaravich Stables, Inc.’s Reinvestment Risk looks like a horse with a future after his debut for trainer Chad Brown in Saratoga’s first race on Saturday, a $72,000 six-furlong maiden special weight test on the main track. After saving ground in the early going, the 2-year-old colt by Upstart took command on the rail coming out of the turn and drew away quickly, opening a big lead and scoring in hand by 7-3/4 lengths, running six furlongs in 1:09 4/5 and earning $39,600.
