Michael Lay, Mike Loughry and D Mac Racing Stable’s Puntrooskie scored his first graded stakes win in Woodbine’s $150,600 Bold Venture Stakes (G3) on Saturday, battling to the lead in the stretch and holding on gamely for a half length decision. The 6-year-old Florida bred son of In Summation, trained by Donald MacRae, now has two stakes victories, a 29-5-6-5 record and $361,969 in earnings. J. Kirk and Judy Robison’s Front Pocket Money tried stakes company for the first time in Saturday’s $101,000 Jersey Shore Stakes (G3) at Monmouth Park. The 3-year-old colt by Uncle Mo took the lead at the break and held it to the wire, turning back a late charge by fellow OBS graduate Yellow Chips and scoring by three quarters of a length. Sold for $67,000 by Highbury Farm at the 2014 OBS Winter Mixed Sale, he’s now 5-3-1-0 with earnings of $152,050 for trainer Steve Asmussen.
