George Krikorian’s War Like Goddess (English Channel – Misty North) rated well of the pace in Sunday’s $250,000 Robert G. Dick Memorial Stakes (G3) at Delaware Park, surged on the turn to reach contention, continued her run down the stretch to reach the lead late and won by a length. It’s the tenth graded stakes win for the 7-year-old daughter of English Channel, who has compiled a 20-12-2-3 career record and earned $2,775,184 in the care of trainer Bill Mott. Consigned to the 2019 OBS June Sale by Hemingway Racing and Training Stables, she was sold for $30,000 after turning in an Under Tack eighth in :10 2/5.  watch her under tack video

Clint Cornett’s Stat (Will Take Charge – Scatmeifucan) sat just off the lead in Gulfstream’s $90,000 Soldier’s Dancer Stakes on Sunday, took command a furlong from home and cruised to victory by a length and three quarters. It’s the first stakes win for the 5-year-old Florida-bred son of Will Take Charge, trained by Saffie Joseph, Jr., now 23-7-4-2 with $331,820 in earnings. At the 2020 OBS October Yearling Sale, he was purchased for $20,000 out of the Dynasty Thoroughbreds consignment.

JD Thoroughbreds LLC and Joey Keith Davis’ Henro (Collected – Street Minstrel) saved ground in the early going of Saturday’s $250,000 Iowa Derby at Prairie Meadows, swung out for the drive, caught fellow OBS graduate Just a Touch (Justify – Touching Beauty) in deep stretch was best by a head at the wire. It was the stakes debut for the 3-year-old son of OBS graduate Collected, trained by Chris Hartman, who has earned $337,439 and posted a 7-3-1-0 record. Patricia’s Hope LLC’s Shezafunkydrummer (Maclean’s Music – Mzima Springs) is two for two and a stakes winner after coming from off the pace, taking charge a furlong out, and posting a 2-1/2 length victory in the $100,000 Prairie Gold Lassie Stakes on Saturday at Prairie Meadows. Larry Rivelli trains the 2-year-old daughter of Maclean’s Music, who has earned $78,000 to date. Consigned to the 2024 OBS March Sale by Wavertree Stables, Inc. Rittdiculous Gazmanian Stable’s (Ryan Ritt) Niki Nine Doors (Cairo Prince – Hey Niki) rated off the pace in Saturday’s $125,000 Pea Patch Stakes at Ellis Park, rallied four-wide down the stretch and scored by two lengths. Redekop B. C., Ltd.’s Avana (Vino Rosso – Revealing Moment), last of four in Saturday’s $50,000 Supernaturel Handicap at Hastings Racecourse, rallied on the rail on the turn, took charge at the top of the stretch and drew off with ease to a 2-3/4 length victory. It’s the second straight stakes win for the 3-year-old filly by Vino Rosso, purchased for $150,000 by Mike Ryan, Agent, out of the Cary Frommer consignment at the 2023 OBS March Sale after she breezed an Under Tack eighth in :10 1/5. Yovani Munoz’s Duke of Carthania (Constitution – Shot Gun Pennie) trailed early Saturday’s $60,000 John Henry stakes at Evangeline Downs, but circled the field seven-wide on the turn, took the lead at the eighth pole and scored by a length and three-quarters. It’s the first stakes win for the 7-year-old son of Constitution, who went through the ring at the 2019 OBS March Sale after working an Under Tack eighth in :10 1/5.
